I'm pretty happy with the information DICE has recently gave us

I guess I would be happy too if they enabled mod support... but they didn't.

@TankerFlanker So PC has super advantages and gets the best aiming system KB/M but consoles are banned from using it?

This isn't a good thing unless ofc it was console only crossplay then its a super idea keep every one on the same level.

@1Hairy-Gorilla I agree that not including those inputs seems… short-sighted.  However, KBM for consoles is still not as common as you might think and there was a time not too long ago where that was not possible on consoles at all (at least not in an official capacity)…

@carsono311  Yup, but to say its for fairness is a joke when they pairing pads vs KB/M on PC's.... are pads disabled for PC players then :P

One of the key side benefits from keeping M&K blocked from the consoles is that it is the best methodology to block the usage of most of the hardware script cheats that mainly is the only way 'cheating' is possible on consoles.  If only the console works with the standard gamepad/controllers plugged in for the gameplay, then it drastically limits the option for using those devices to 'enhance' the player's capabilities beyond what is truly possible humanly on a std controller alone.

I personally hope this block will stay in place to keep a level playing field, as intended for the console world to be.

And not a question about who can afford to pimp his/her console the most with gadget plugins and what have you of shady stuff...)

(all while I do recognize the M&K option is enabling players with various disabilities to also play the game on console, as otherwise hampered or not possible at all.)

Same here. 🙌 I also like when Console stays Console, playing with a simple Controller against each other. Not worrying about someone using M&K on the same platform. Cross-play with PC people is even a different story. 

But keep the following still in mind! 

It won't be supported at launch, but they'll work on it to make it in a proper way available.

See below the official Infos regarding this topic:

"We’ve heard your questions about mouse and keyboard support for consoles. We can confirm that we won’t be supporting this on consoles at the launch of Battlefield 2042, but we are still investigating the various options about making that available, and how it may impact cross-play. If that ever changes, you’ll hear it from us first."

So it's not entirely sure that it won't come at all!

@CyberDyme  If that's the reason Dice belive then o boy lol.

Them strikepacks and cronus doesn't rely on KB/M for scripts...

If BF had Bloom then no recoil scripts wouldn't work...

@Its_Travis_199  Are they really open to feeback as everywhere you look ppl want console only crossplay not with PC... <This is make or break for me after Warzone. Its simply not worth it.

@1Hairy-Gorilla i really don't know if they just don't want to make it possible to just Opt-out from PC and stick with only Xbox and PS on New-gen as it actually is on Old-gen too. 

Or if it's so hard for the Team to make two ways of Cross-play.

I saw for sure many people requesting it, also myself would like it as i'm on PS5.

But all we know and can say so far is that it's been confirmed that there would be either Cross-play ON (which means All-or-Nothing) or Cross-play OFF and stick with your Platform only.

That's how it'll probably will be at launch, and we can just hope as see if feedback and requests from the Community can make it change later on.
