Interesting topic. each team fully integrated with a command structure and communication.
2042 does remind me a lot of Alterac Valley in WoW back in the day. Those were the days boys. We had to walk to the first aid station/relief hut in the snow, BOTH WAYS!!!!
While the maps are greatly different, the resource timer and objective control are very similar from a strat standpoint.
I played on a team of 40 people. In fact, we had numerous rooms with teams, at times 5 rooms (that is 200 people) in 5 games
The end result was we tunneled pugs in 11 minutes. Blizzard found that unless you have teams on both sides, it destroyed the game for the pugs. I could see that happening here. The worst loss I witnessed in 2042 as 1182 - 0. I was on the winning side and frankly, the game ended so fast, it was like joining a game that was 90% over.
I thoroughly enjoy the full organized team concept. I just hope that caution is applied in its rollout.
@Padding_Ur_StatsI get what you are saying, it kinda sums up the whole Pre made groups vs pugs and how it destroys the fun.
but BF works a little different, teaming up with a hand full of your friends in a squad use to be really great fun and it didnt allways lead to your team winning or mud stomping the other team, because frankly you are also going to have 20+ others on your team who are just out there doing god knows what most of the game.
But it was still fun working as a team and having a roll within the squad. them days seem to be so far gone in BF and its sad really.
@DrunkwoIfI was talking from a full team standpoint. I have been teamed up within my squad since I have been playing. We have discord. The VoiP basically gives Pugs a chance. I have had mixed results. I had one game where the other 3 guys were a party, and the voip allowed all of us to be organized. I have had other games where the player blasts his music and just screams racial epitaphs believing he was clever.
