@Necromantion I'm ruining the franchise by advocating for fun and skill based mechanics?
Thanks for showing me the error of my ways.
Your proposal of throwing points at the problem is probably the right way to go.

Yeah, I don't understand why they do for infantry but not vehicles?
Seems like it would be easy to implement.
- Anobix4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ironhead841 Yeah, I don't understand why so many medals/badges/ribbons are entirely removed from this game.
- 4 years ago@Psubond any vehicle kill assists, the previous games had assists if you helped take out vehicles even without spotting/soflaming them

- 4 years ago@AngrySquid270 No, your lopsided view on anything that is vehicle related is the mentality that has had people crying about vehicles when they refuse to do anything to counter vehicles.
Instead of soflamming, spawning a wildcat, getting in another jet or heli, getting an m5 or stinger they come to the forums to say X vehicle is OP.
Meanwhile I say, lets bring back cohesiveness and teamwork rather than a free for all mentality and you think theres something wrong with it when it worked perfectly fine in previous battlefield games from BFBC2 - BF4- UP_Hawxxeye4 years agoLegend

Too many consider the enemy vehicles to be something they should not have to go out of their way to counter with the gadgets the game gives us.
The Jets do have the usual issue of being able to ignore ground based counters but that is another story.
Each time someone on youtube or here says that "we have too many tanks on the map that dominate" I am like "Duuuuuude are we even playing the same game?" Unless the tank is escorted by Irish infantry with APS gadgets and repair tools, it can just be barraged by m5 rockets, Sundance grenades and C5 on its own or attached to jeeps and drones.

Getting locked on to in aircraft every moment you get out of spawn isn’t fun but you don’t want to hear it. All you do is whine about how your handheld rocket can’t instantly destroy aircraft worth tens millions to produce.

Its almost as though he doesnt understand that it should actually take teamwork to take out vehicles
- 4 years ago@CPT_GASLIGHT I mean...maybe 1/5 of my missiles last night actually hit. Not because of flares (I don't mind forcing a pilot to flare, that's a success!), but because despite a 100% solid lock the missile just...didn't land. It would just shoot off in another direction as if the pilot had flared, but they very much had not. Not because the visual didn't display (which I keep in mind), but because their flares were just blown and they were re-eligible for lock-on.
I agree that the whole "lockons from infantry literally all over the map" is super lame for pilots as well. But honestly DICE would need to revisit the whole aircraft/ground design from top to bottom to make meaningful headway here. It's a nightmare of terrible design that's resulted in the experience feeling pretty lame both for pilots who are dealing with maps filled with AA rockets and infantry who often don't have any effective ways to deal with air (either due to the design of maps/weapons or due to missiles just bugging out and zipping off into nowhere).- 4 years ago

Honestly as a frequent attack heli pilot I have some games where I am allowed to run rampant by teams and others where im constantly having to pop up and then flare and run away/use cover or terrain to avoid getting hit.
Jets have been and are a huge issue when it comes to countering right now - frankly I think we need stationary AA at bases again to start and go from there. The only hard counter to a jet is another good jet pilot or a VERY good chopper pilot - and even then assuming skill is equal the jet will win due to the dumbfire ability of the later unlocked air to air missiles they can drop right before they come upon a target with no lock

I explicitly asked for dumbfire AA rockets in the second post on this topic. I have no love for lock-on AA weapons.
I find the current stinger to have too small of a skill window and not much fun to operate. I'd prefer a skill based, customizable, dumbfire AA option that offers a high skill ceiling. I don't see what's so objectionable about that.
- 4 years ago@AngrySquid270 Isn't the recoil your dumbfire? Ive fired my recoil at birds who just hover over targets.
