Hey guys, just wondering on opinions here...the LCMG was my go-to before the ARs got fixed, and while it obviously couldn't compete with the pre-patch SMGs, I did marginally OK with it. Now, though, with the AR's finally fixed, I am getting destroyed trying to use the LCMG. If I'm not getting sniped when I try to set up with a bipod, I'm getting owned by all ARs even if I get the first shot off. I'm not screaming for a buff or a balance on it, I'm more curious how (or if) y'all are using it to be successful with it, because right now it sure seems to be hugely inferior to most other guns. I was a big-time Support main in BF4 so LMGs have always kinda been my thing, so I'd like to figure out how to make the LCMG work. Thanks.

LCMG is still pretty bad.There's too many weapons that'll dominate it at any given range for it to be really competetive.It's OK for short range, but it gets outgunned by both the SMGs and the AR's, and at medium range it gets outgunned by basically everything.At long range you would be better off picked up rocks to throw at the enemies.

@Trokey66 It could be the hit reg. It still seems off.I sometimes try a gun and thinks its the best gun ever, then the next round the same gun feels terrible

@Trokey66 I had a slightly better time with it yesterday. One thing I figured out was that I was trying to side-strafe while firing. Seems like the LCMG is a stop-and-pop weapon and then the accuracy improves. If you're moving while firing, it goes everywhere (which actually isn't unrealistic for trying to fire a 10kg LMG from the shoulder).

@BizzyVaping Sadly that's what I've been finding today. By the time the LCMG settles onto target, it's too late. Seems like handling > firepower right now and the M5A3 feels really good. AK-24 still kicks like hell but it's more controllable. I'm almost to where I can unlock the SFAR and try it out.

@AOD_moose004 Yep, I responded to you in another thread but I'll say it again here....

@AOD_moose004 I am the LMGMan, always been using lmgs since BF3. I was using LCMG then unlocked PKP, I didnt use LCMG after the update but I can say PKP is much better especially at range but it has to much recoil, if you can control it, it will be quite effective.

@AOD_moose004 The AK-24 has the type of kick that accidentally helps to get more head-shots if you aim for the center mass

Well, it's comparable to what it's like in real life. Shooting an LMG by the shoulder standing up is impossible if they were to go and fix it, they will be lasers close, med and long range there needs to be a source of reality

@hearingflameRealism should be applied where practicable but balance should always trump realism.

As it stands, it appears that the LCMG has be 'realismed' into obscurity with no obvious redeeming features.

@LMGGoDLeSS I just tried the PKP. Never gave it a chance after trying the LCMG, but the PKP is a straight up beast now

Nah... but it feels like the LCMG got worst after the patch. it use to hit way more shot at range and was concidered one of the top 5 weapon before the patch because the spread was normal. i tried using it as a stealth option because it had a suppressor after trying the pkp for a few days but it felt way off. i couldnt consistantly hit anything after 10m anymore but before i use to map people with it. now it feels horrible
