This is clearly an exploit, plain and simple, I don't see what there is to discuss about it other than the fact that it should not be a thing in the game, and/or that DICE should probably stop trying to make lockons work by needing to physically touch the vehicle. Stuff like this was happening back in BF4, and is even more frequent with Pondhawks.
This is no different than finding a hard to get in hole in Redacted that lets you go OOB and shoot people that can't shoot back.

- @Lady_One As i say again, you can't out maneuver missile, but dodging is possibility, there it happened. Sometimes i dodge stinger and am my self in wtf mode, how? But practically you can dodge helos, jets and even cats(way more harder) missiles in 2042. Even if you would call it exploit, take one and try for your self.

Personally I have long ago given up on including AA missiles on the loadouts of any aircraft used outside of air superiority. I even take AT missiles for the wildcat because flares already invalidate AA missiles without dodge exploits.
