Joining friends their server is near to impossible.

Summarize your bug Right now it's near to impossible to join friends their server who are already in a full squad. They have to leave their squad for you to be able to join their server. But since a proper squad system is missing in Battlefield 2042 you can't create, join or swap squads. It's all random and stars have to align if you want to be lucky enough to get in the same server. If you FINALLY manage to get into the same server as your friends, the lobby disband after a single round and you have to start all over again by trying to get into the same server. It's near to impossible to organize playing with my group of 8 irl friends.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By joining a game with 4 friends, then when a 5th friend tries to join you, you will see the 5th friend can't join. 1 of the 4 players already in-game has to leave the squad, create a new one and then tell the 5th person he can join. But a proper squad system is missing so even that simple feature is not working.
What happens when the bug occurs? I get sad because I can't play with my friends. I work late and when I come online they are always in a full squad, I don't mind playing in another squad as long as it is on the same server as them. I don't even care in what team I get put. I just wanna play on the same servers as my friends. I get really sad. Also a little bit of angry because this same bug was in Battlefield V, but at least in Battlefield V you had a server browser and a proper squad system.
What should be happening instead? I should be joining the queue or joining the server and be placed in an empty squad or join a random squad on my friends team.

This bug makes me very sad inside, because I just wanna play with my friends. That's all I ask for now, just being able to play with them. Please DICE, I beg you. I'm desperate and if you need more information, pictures, video footage or anything I will help you.

I'm devastated ☹️

@UniQue1992 Can confirm, the squad system does not work.

The "Change Squad" button in the "Players List" almost always does not work when you need it work.
Good luck if the server keeps putting you on the enemy team.

The squads UI page is a joke and an embarrassment to the franchise compared to what we have for squads in previous BF titles.

This needs to be stated loudly and often.

I agree the Squad management in BF2042 could definitely do with a total rework / upgrade.

We all (well, all with >3 friends that want to play together) have this issue. Very annoying.

Usually we follow the routine of joining with the first 4, splitting off 1, the others join the 2 parties, which works (after having to queue again for minutes).
Then more often than not the players that join late will be put in the enemy team, even though they are in the same party and as soon as the player that spit off before dies, he gets also moved over to the ENEMY team.

The whole system is broken and it seems nobody at Dice has more then 3 friends, otherwise this oversight is really hard to explain.

Yep that's the annoyance that myself and a handful of friends/guys on a discord do to play together. I can understand not wanting 20 people in a party stomping the other team, but the limit of 4 is so very annoying when I am generally the 5th-man-out because I have to put kids to bed or whatever and the squad/party already started up. Which leads to me just going and playing something else instead of spending my time solo-queueing 😞

usually if friends come on and people are in a game, they just quit and we make a squad on main screen and join together. shouldnt have to be like that but it is.

No it definitely shouldn't have to be like that in a Battlefield Title in 2022,
This is a very important element of any BF game and should be addressed asap.

It just makes you wonder how many more players are doing the same as you and going to play other games, and BF2042 cannot afford to shed players.
DICE need to resolve this asap.

It is not required that you quit, unless you mind queuing for extended periods of time. But technically it is possible to create a party (or split an existing one) mid match and the new player wanting to join her friends can enter it and will be put in queue. If the server is full, then you have to wait (but it was the same in older titles, except for those of us with VIP slots on the servers we rented ourselves).

The problem comes between rounds as there are no persistent servers and you have to match make every round again with all parties. But if you synchronize via Teamspeak (or Discord or whatever you use to communicate) and all party leaders press 'Play' at the same time, you will almost always land on the same server, because luckily the game has so few servers running by now that the likelihood for this approach to work is rather high.
