I'm just wanting an answer regarding BF 2042 - not looking for trollish comments 🙂
This is not a 'trollish' post, it is an opposing opinion held by many.
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 If the new consoles have support for M&K then all this level playing field nonsense is null and void as anyone has the choice to plug in a M&K if they think its better. Its then all about personal preference. The one caveat i would add to that is the potential for macros etc on M&K and i'll admit i am very much out of the loop with regards all that.
- 4 years ago@ninjapenquinuk It's not 'nonsense' when they are not supported and that is BEFORE we get to macros etc.
@Z3nMestar1 and if crossplay isn't there or at least, not enforced?
Would you advocate M&KB players being identifiable so that controller users can see if they have been beaten by better players or an advantageous input device?- 4 years ago@Trokey66 if they arent supported then that is a different kettle of fish, but surely they will be on PS5/XX. This is 2021. Again, IF, they are supported then people have a choice. If M&K is so superior and you have the option to plug in a M&K, why would you opt not too, or would you just be a puritan and stick to a controller come what may? I personally prefer a controller for the CQ stuff, as it certainly wasnt my strong point back in my PC days (some would say it still isnt!!), however i feel a M&K is certainly better for mid/long range engagements.

If so that cat is already out of the bad and has been since PS3/360 days.

Mous and keyboard on consoles pliz.. Many people will play this game again. Hope you DICE can lisen to the community. Looks like ther are a lot of people wanting this.
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 Well those players can then dominate & play with controllers. Up to them. If crossplay (between next gen consoles and pc) would be enabled then so should various controller options be available too.
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 We talk about allowing it on crossplay matches.
HALO, Fortnite, CoD etc, do it and no one is complaining.
I have buddies that cannot play on a m/k setup and vice versa.
We all play together and have a blast.
Me on my Xbox with m/k, my bud on PC with m/k and two buds from PS5 with controllers. This is a basic use scenario.
No one is complaining, everyone is happy that we can play the same game as we see fit.- 4 years ago
@DamiaNMaXWell done, the 7-8 guys I play with regularly unanimously dislike M&KB on console (and excessively strong Aim Assist).
Depending on cost/benefit, the very small minority might just have to suck it up as it is not essential unlike colourblindness settings.- 4 years ago
@Trokey66Then don't use it? If it's added it's an option for both sides. If it isn't then one side is restricted and their experience is affected. The other side will remain unchanged no matter the outcome of this. If your friends don't like 'others' to have fun and play in a crossplay lobby with a M&K and with other M&K players then it's clear where the problem is.
Aim assist has nothing to do with this. Like I said PC players still exist. It is completely independent of whether or not there is M&K support for consoles.

Alternative inputs should be supported. Especially for those with disabilities.
however, I personally don’t want to be playing mouse users on the console when I’m using a controller.
someone mentioned groupping players by input method rather than console type. which sort of makes sense.
