Does the game have native support on PS5 for keyboard and mouse ?

@Asrach It won't be supported at launch, but they'll still work on it to make it available. Probably trying to create it in a balanced way to fit for everyone, since some casual players on a Console just don't like fighting others on the same platform using M&K. @Fartyxxx Thats all of us here 😋@Z3nMestar1 while I would love to hear something from the devs we are going to have to unfortunately wait till after the release of the game. I'm pretty sure the devs would be stressed with releasing the game in a proper state so even we are going to have to wait till their head is clear before we hear anything regarding M&K support. They have done a good job with the game so far and my only gripe is no M&K support. We will let them know for sure.

Crossplay is available so please allow native mouse and keyboard support too. Put us in different lobby with PC players. Playing FPS games with a controller is really hard for many people. having to fight against my controls really makes it hard to enjoy the game. Call of duty has it and nobody had problems. Please consider.

Double checking: it's still possible for us PC gamers to opt out of playing with console gamers, right? My CoD: BO4 experience with console gamers wasn't great and I rather play with PC players only.

@infantrypeasantConsole users can opt out of crossplay which pretty much everyone will do. Which means most (if not all) of players in a crossplay lobby will be PC. Putting M&K console users with these players should make sure that there is no disparity between the inputs the players in your game use and shouldn't affect controller user experience. Also this ensures crossplay doesn't go to waste.
@A_al_K_pacino_A Controller aim assist will pretty much be the same regardless of whether or not there is M&K support for consoles because crossplay will still exist. I do not think they two are related.

@BaronVonGoonAt this stage, Xim/Cronus/Titan do not work on PS5 version of games. They can't bypass the DualSense requirement (Sony requirement that all PS5-specific games must use DualSense controller) and the communication protocol can’t be cracked because all packets are encrypted and timestamped.

Will have to wait and see if K&M are native to console versions of BF2042. My guess is no for PS5.

@Lancelot_du_Lac A quick Google search reveals that a XIM Apex PS5 firmware update was released 8 months ago......

@Trokey66 Had a deeper look at the Xim forums about this. The firmware update was only for 3rd party controllers, and only applies to PS4 games played on PS5. All new PS5 games require a DualSense controller.

To quote a MVP on the Xim forums:
"Cronus will have the same problem. No-one can bypass the DualSense requirement and the communication protocol can’t be cracked because all packets are encrypted and timestamped.

XIM APEX never fully supported PS5 and no new game support was promised...
We’ve been warning about this happening on PS5 for over a year. If you want next-gen game support for XIM, get an Xbox."

And from the Titan forums:
"… the DualSense's controller communication protocol with the PS5 console. It looks uncrackable due to encryption and timestamped packets. So a DualSense won't be spoofed, which is needed to launch PS5 games...

Call of Duty and Battlefield will both have "Trigger Effects Required", which means only a DualSense controller directly connected to the console will work."

@OskooI_007 That's kind of the trade off you get your M&K on console but you're not allowed to have your unfair advantage using it against controller users so it's a take it or leave it kind of situation, and idk why people keep bringing up CoD look at the amount of cheaters it has still, and then the news about cheats already for 2042 they'll have.

Imo I say NO to m&k playing against controller users, it's not a level playing field and input based lobbies are definitely needed if they do even add it, and pretty sure someone mentioned games requiring the dual sense on PS5 not too sure if that's accurate but yeah it's the way it should be.

@BaronVonGoon Oh you mean the cheating device that eliminates recoil and changes semi automatic weapons to pretty much full auto? The pathetic cheaters device that they need for consoles.

I think M&K support for consoles should be added in a way that doesn't victimize controller players. If controller users opt out of playing with M&K then they shouldn't go against them. The best way is to put M&K console users in a crossplay lobby (against PCs) and deny them the option to opt out. They will be prone to going against cheaters but it's no different to what PC players experience. Using M&K does come with a price and it's something only the user should be willing to pay and not anyone else. If I use M&K on consoles I will do so fully knowing that I am prone to cheaters. No one else should take the bullet.
Like OP said, I hope the devs consider adding in this support. Here's hoping. Most of us who want M&K support are PC players and are quite used to this hacking epidemic.
