Lack of audio is holding this game back a lot

There’s no real audio or indication that indicates you’re being shot at or someone is running behind you. In battlefield 3 and battlefield 4 you could have the bullets cracking in your ear drums when you’re being shot at.

There’s 0 indication that you are being fired Upon until you are actually dead, how is this a thing in a FPS or even in a battlefield game??

  • Yea I have an issue with the foot steps. Something wonky about them that makes it hard to pinpoint where the person is. The directional sound IS THERE... but it's just off. As you mentioned... past BF's and in CoD... I can be blindfolded and tell almost exactly where the person is. Like behind and above me 20 feet away. In this game I can be in a 3 story house and someone could be on the floor above me walking around and the best I can do is say that someone is above or below me... LoL.

Edit: And the sound is weird in general for foot steps. I think the footstep sounds were recorded in the DICE mens room or something.

    Agreed @-NME-M0710NM4N ,

The sound schemes in BF2042 are the result of very poor and simplistic rushed sound engineering.

The sounds and scheme are very simplistic 'flat', so no nuances of direction and proximity.

Like mono-sound computer games from the 80-ties...

BF2042 sound engineering is much below the standards of prior BF games and current day FPS games from competitors.

  • i have issues with vehicles like Tanks, or choppers that seem to appear from nowhere. This is due to sound from such vehicles being non existent until they are on top of you.

I was in the Bolte and was right behind 2 enemy players, sat there for a few seconds before mowing them down. They did not hear the vehicle.

    This needs addressing.
