In Portal even with BF2042 preset none of the kills count towards weapon attachment unlocks! Seriously. So we are forced to play the core game in order to unlock stuff and progress? I was under the impression that progression worked in Portal?
From what I have read no unlocks work in Portal

Yup, just figured that out, who on Earth made that decision? Pretty sure we were told before relase that progression worked in Portal.
Yeh it does abit since feel blind not knowing your ping servers ping where you join etc currently
@SillyCybYeah not beeing able to see your ping is annoying as hell. I have a gigabite internet connection, playing on a wired connection and still get pretty bad rubberbanding in 1 out of 4 matches
DICE really needs to address this.
I found a solution to the problem of setting sights and other things on the weapon. go to me weapons in the portal (bf3 or bf bad company), then select the desired weapon and press the square (on the ps5), select the desired sight and move it to the first slot (this also need to do through the square I think). Repeat this procedure with other gadgets on the weapon, the next election you will always have a weapon with a sight, etc. while unpleasant is that you can not do this during the game in battle as in 2042. this I would like to fix it
Yes, this no-server browser in all-out warfare is a big problem.

After almost 2 days that the game is out and I am already starting to worry a lot and asking myself if I need to try to get a refund before I can't anymore.
Not going to full out hate on the game because the first few hours where great and flawless for me but now I can't progress weapons, specialist and everything else except weapon level.
But now I can't even level up in portal and why is xp in all out warfare pve dropped down wtf, leveling up was already pretty slow to begin with.
My hope was high for this game and the first few hours where awesome but to see a drop in to a bad pit of hell so fast is making me worried.
I bought the game for portal and custom pve creations like sandstorm.
Hope this is not the way the game is going.
I've actually not had any issues joining games in the core game, I've played a load of Conquest and Breakthrough without issue. Aside from the whole quick join and forced matchmaking at the end of each round which is a horrible horrible decision by DICE.

This is going to sound sarcastic, and I promise I don't mean it that way, I'm not trying to be a dillhole.
If you don't want to play all out war, why are you bothered about progression? The only unlocks, as far as I'm aware, are for AOW and Hazard zone.
Don't get me wrong, I think portal should have had its own progression system, but by standard at least everything is unlocked within it...
@WrongJeremy lol no worries. If you use the 2042 factions in Portal you can't use all the attachments unless you've unlocked them in the core game as far as I'm aware.

You probably are right mate, I haven’t done any 2042 content in portal yet, only the curated experiences that DICE set up.
Has their been any official news about how and when they are going to bring back progression in Portal then? You'd think it would be a very high priority right now as it was one of the main selling points of the game. I can't check their Twitter because for some reason they blocked me not long after BF3 released, no idea why because I don't even use Twitter and never really have lol
L1/Attachment doesn’t work in Portal games. Playing on PS4.
I tried all the games (BF3; etc.) but the 1st one. Also tried all the classes and different guns. I matter what L1 does nothing. Also checked the controller mapping and it’s fine.
I read under another topic to shut down the PS4 and literally disconnect it from the wall for at least 60 seconds. Didn’t work.
