@Kean_1111 This is how it should have been from the beginning !!!
To be honest this never should have happened in the first place. I really wish it didn't.
Before launch they kept saying there were systems in place that would prevent people from making xp farm servers while still allowing Full Progress for those playing with the AI who didn't change those settings and kept it close to the default settings.
What A Blatant Lie That Was !!!
If they really did do that from the beginning we wouldn't be having this problem at all !!!
Now they are punishing those who are playing legit because of those toxic ******* xp farming ******** ... I have had enough of all of them.
None of us have all the facts. Maybe they had controls in place that failed? Maybe their approach didn't account for the way people exploited the system? .....and yeah, maybe they didn't have any controls and just expected most wouldn't resort to something like this. I have no idea.
What we do know is that the suspension of XP is temporary until they can fix or find a solution to deal with it. Perhaps that will come in the form of throttling XP in those cases where players are found to be gaining it rapidly. ....who knows.
XP gains in Portal is what I consider a major selling point as that is really the only mode my friends and I are interested in. They made a point of marketing this fact along with the AI, etc. so I don't expect this XP suspension will be permanent. I suspect it's high on the list of things for they want to try and fix before the full release next week.
I didn't buy the Gold Edition for this very reason. I knew the game would have issues at launch and why would I want to pay extra to experience that? Actually, it works for people like me because we can see all the problems before the full release and hopefully see them addressed before we buy the game on that date. If not, we can then decide if it's worth buying now or waiting longer for them to address the problem we have concerns about.
Early adopters are essentially guinea pigs especially in this day and age of gaming. Not saying it's right but it is what it is. .....but I'd be lying if I said I don't benefit from it.
@Kean_1111You pretty much hit the nail on the head there 🙂
It is pretty much the main reason I bought it so for them to just remove it out of the gate like this... Yea it hurts very badly which is why it feels like a betrayal even if it isn't.
@Trokey66For the record I do completely blame those making the XP farm servers in the first place.
But before launch DICE and EA kept saying they had things in place to stop them WITHOUT punishing those playing with legit settings against the AI.
What they said was either broken or it never existed which would mean it was a blatant lie because otherwise there wouldn't have been any XP farm servers at all. Period.
It's as simple as that.

I think that this measure they imposed is the typical temporary DICE bandaid.
They wanted to do a quick fix to last the weekend while they take their weekend break.
DICE takes their rest time really seriously. When BF4 just released they went for like 2 weeks vacation while we had to experience the bugs and crashes in all their glory
- 4 years ago@Kurohebi Oh dear.....
In order to accuse someone of 'blatantly lying' One should have evidence of the lie, he does not.
Of course it either works or doesn't, it not working properly though is not evidence that it doesn't exist at all just that it doesn't work as intended.
If a car won't start does that automatically mean there is no engine in it?
As I have said, there are numerous possible reasons for this issue long before "they blatantly lied".
I have no need to wipe my mouth as unlike some.... - 4 years ago
At the end of the day it really is just another failure by EA/DICE. It's like these guys haven't learned one thing over the last 20 years.
It's mind boggling.
- 4 years ago@WienerBeard 100%. And really, how did they NOT see this coming? It's so blatantly obvious that people would do this... I feel like there is no one at DICE with critical thinking skills.
- 4 years ago@Kurohebi Correct.
But he is saying there is no engine without looking under the bonnet.
It could be a flat battery.
It could be no fuel.
It could even be a snapped cam belt!
Again, there could be numerous reasons long before "blatantly lying" as to why the engine (safeguards) aren't working.
The engine (safeguards) not working is not evidence of it not being under the bonnet (in game).
Now I think you are under some misguided delusion that I think this is all OK, I don't. I simply look for reasonable explanations before going immediately under my kitchen sink to get my roll of tinfoil out.
Fact is, there is/was an issue with XP farming in Portal. DICE have temporarily suspended XP there until the 'exploit' can be closed.
Unfortunately that impacts those strange people that only want to play PvE but is understandable when put onto the context of those using it to gain an advantage through accelerated progression in there to be used for use in PvP. - 4 years ago
@Trokey66 DICE are Complete Liars unless they re-enable Full Progression in the Solo/Coop matches at least !!!
"All experience you earned in Battlefield™ 2042 is universal and shared across all its modes, which means you’ll be leveling up and unlocking new weapons, gadgets, and cosmetics no matter which mode you’re playing."

The proof is right there where everyone can see it. As well as the various questions people asked about it on Twitter and Reddit where they answered "Yes you will be able to progress while playing Matches with our AI Soldiers 🙂 " Every Single Time !!!
They Lied !!!
Plain and Simple as that and nothing you say will change it.
- 4 years ago@Jesse165 I agree, but I can see that there needs to be some adjustment with those XP servers.
I think if they had some kind of criteria to identify xp servers and reduce or remove progression in those, then that's fine. Or even just slightly reducing xp in all player-made portal matches (though that's kind of a bummer).
But they definitely should not reduce xp in the solo/co-op games vs the AI. There's no reason to. Some people would prefer to play that way they ABSOLUTELY should be able to progress the same as anyone else. - 4 years ago@Jesse165 Have you looked under the bonnet yet?
For the first few days you could earn XP in all modes so where is the 'lie'?
Idiots took the urine and spoilt it for everyone by forcing to temporarily suspend XP 'in all modes' so no, they didn't 'lie' about that either!
By the Gods..... - 4 years ago
Even more proof:
"If you’re not interested in the competitive environment and you just want to play our game, and still progress, still unlock weapons? You can do that. Playing against AI is not a separate game mode in Battlefield 2042, it’s just a way of playing our multiplayer experience.
- 4 years ago@Trokey66 Yes I do blame the XP farmers as well but it still doesn't change the truth.
Yes it was there for the first unstable hour then they removed it immediately. Unless they add it back it still counts as them lying right to our faces since those playing the normal Solo/Coop matches (THAT CAN'T BE CHANGED !!!) cant progress either. - 4 years ago
"Strange" is a bit much Trokey no? PvE was a core of BF up until BF3 and people are now modding it in. Destiny is mainly PvE, Nearly all shooters have a PvE element to it.
Not everyone likes spending their free time sweating it out in PvP.
@Boland110The ones I refer to as 'strange' are the ones who buy a primarily multilayer game for the relatively small PvE/Co-op elements only.
Nowt wrong with dabbling with it as part of the overall experience but to play it exclusively is strange to me.Yes Destiny and The Division as well, are PvE games but that is their major element and you don't usually get just to play their small PvE elements.

So first thing, im not so much pvp player and solo/coop was one big point for me to buy, first day everything ok, then they stop progress in this, i find after few rounds that weapons can be still upgraded and to get scope and other thinks you have to pick up weapon from dead bots and keep killing with it, works one dey - yesterday, today i played few rounds and nothink, not even one kill with bots weapons doesnt was count, so i think they must stop even this??!!
Second thing - so i tried pvp, why not ? After about 8-10 minutes of internet connections issues and lags game crash, second try - again, third try again again again ...... ( And now i dont have potato connection )
So..... Im asking myself, for what i spend 100$ to ultimate edition if pvp is unplayeable for me and solo/coop is pointless ? Im just feeling like they spit in my face with "we have your money so sit down, shut the f**k up and wait"
Im really disapointed by this all.......and how im looking am not only one.
Refound is immpossible for me on PS5 when i played first day few games .......
So what now? Like i said, sit down, shut up,wait and be frustrated
And im sorry guys for my English, im not so much good in it ......

I don't blame people who made XP farms, because that's one thing you can always count on with humans: they will often try to take the easy route. I blame the devs for putting those types of settings in place, to begin with. If they were so bad, and shouldn't have been used, why were they even added with that level of control?
Yes, I enjoy having tools to create custom matches with very detailed controls--and Portal could eventually become something great, even the saving grace for this franchise--but filters should have been put into place to limit XP gained with certain settings, before the game was released. Instead, we have a community in an uproar and outright rebellion.
