I have to agree with OP. There is no need to buy game separately if it will be online only. Who want to play can just subscribe to EA Play service. In any case you just rent a game, when EA will decide to shut down servers, there will be nothing left.
EA has so far failed to reply to a simple question, if game will be playable offline. Developers at DICE take years of hard work to develop such amazing models, mechanics, graphics that Battlefield games contain, just to be everything dumped after several years and there is nothing left for fans to keep playing this masterpiece.
Unfortunately i won't be able to buy this game, If there wont be a simple offline mode. And it is quite sad that this is probably where my Battlefield veteran collection also end.

As much as I hope there will be offline play, if there isn't, that's not a deal breaker for me.
By the time the servers are shut down (if they do that) there will be another BF game or 2 available to roll. 🍻
- 4 years ago@SOCOMDEATHDEALR Well, what about DICE services. They will not be able to be turned on for years because sooner or later they will also be turned off in order to raise them online to a new battlefield and suffer the same story as with the old Battlefield. We need bots to be offline as well. Since we have been asking for this since 2010.

Not sure why, in 2021, you're going to end ur BF rollin streak, over not being able to roll offline.
Just a side note. In all of my years rollin various games and being on countless fourms.....I've personally never seen a company take the ( MANY MANY .......MANY ) 'if u don't do this or that, I won't buy ur game anymore' to heart....and rush the team back to the drawing board. Let's just be realistic.
Like I said, I definitely hope it's an option, but if not, I'm still pumped about rollin it. 🍺😎🍺

Yeah.. Im not buying this BF if theres no Campaign or offline mode.. Waist of my money if the servers ever go off. screw that investment
- 4 years ago@DARKWOLVEN69 well, campaign is a non-issue, but no offline create local and connect local ? bf 1942 has that, Vietnam also, 2, 2142.
So, I try my best to not sound rude, because it seems then like I have nothing else to do other than to tell that the newer one is not going to scratch the good features just because of corporate narrative that there are 'Jack Sparrows' lurking everywhere and how they are going to completely ruining everything. If their fear, that 'Jack Sparrow' is going to make them homeless or something, is real, then no wonder that such people are not really trying to make something for the person that buys their product.
Maybe it is just their fear of losing profits, even a single cent and if this is how they make it the bogey man that supposedly justifies it. Is it justifiable ? Surely there has to be a bit of looking at the corporate interest, but they should look at the interest of an ordinary person who does not live in fairy tale of a worldview dissassociated from the person that they should value for giving them money for their product. I do not mean value as money, some value money as secondary and people first. Some value only money. From your values seem to come also the product. You may preach your feigned values and you may act on them as well.
For example, I installed bf 1942 after 10+ years, Very few games I knew had coop with bots so I generally did not play, since I could not be bothered to do what was not fun. You know, things like hacker-infested servers that no gamer of newer BF titles such as BFbc 2, 3,4... ever experienced :P I think that people should have freedom, it is too precious to be thrown away regardless of how difficult, unpleasant it is.
Is what I write too idealistic ? Too optimistic ? I mean, there is nothing that doesnt say that both ends can have their interests met.
Yes, I do refuse the narrative that because there are people xy, that there cant be create local. Less data traffic to EA server means less usage on their part 🙂
