Good news, everyone! I just went onto the Microsoft Xbox Store on their website to check on Battlefield 2042. I had an idea, one that I think you might benefit from. In the wake of the news that Battlefield 2042 will not feature a singleplayer campaign, I spent days scouring the Internet for news concerning 2042's bots and their possible offline availability. I didn't find much, and many people posted conflicting arguments about the bots. However, I thought of a (presumably) foolproof way to confirm my suspicions about the bots. As you know, Overwatch has bots, but they're not available offline. As such, the store listing says, 'Xbox Live Gold required to play'. Conversely, games like Verdun and Tannenberg do not have singleplayer campaigns but feature offline bots. Accordingly, their store listings state 'Online Multiplayer requires Xbox Live Gold'. I checked the listing for Battlefield 2042... and it was 'Online Multiplayer requires Xbox Live Gold'! That means there's probably going to be some form of offline play involving bots in 2042!
And another thing... I was just playing Verdun, and I can confirm that you can level up and earn progression in that game. You even earn EXP for playing games offline! If an indie game developer can make use of offline progression, I'm sure DICE can too. Besides, if they can't, they can just give players the option to turn progression off while playing with bots!

@ChrisAWJBethel, I hope this is true, I can't wait to try the game when the open beta will appear...
