@Trokey66Because offline bots provide a way to play a game available to everyone, not just people with the 10000x Triple G Graphics Card and a 500 Gigabit Internet connection. I know this is very hard to understand, but there are poor people who play games who don't have access to an Internet connection or money for a monthly multiplayer subscription. Why don't you try putting yourself in their shoes?
@ChrisAWJBethel it is not about 'being in their shoes'.
At what cost to EA/DICE, they are a business not a charity. Has it not occurred to you that even if technically possible, the cost/benefit may have been deemed unviable and a change at this stage may have undesirable impact on the project as a whole?

Hey folks,
I've been reading through this thread, and I just wanted to drop a friendly reminder to please stay civil with each other here on Answers HQ. Just because someone doesn't share your opinion doesn't mean you should attack them personally. Not everyone will agree with you, and that's OK. We want Answers HQ to be a place that's welcoming to everyone.
I don't want to close this thread because we appreciate the feedback we've been seeing on this, but if we continue seeing personal attacks or other inappropriate comments we might have to lock it.
I'd encourage everyone to take a look at the Answers HQ Rules & Guidelines when you've got the chance to make sure you're not crossing any lines.
Thanks, everyone!

- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChrisAWJBethel Does that mean that Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Jaguar should consider me when making cars or in reality do I accept that I can only afford my Seat?
Should Rolex or Cartier consider me when they make watches or should I just accept the fact that my Timex will suffice?
Should Gordan Ramsey look at his restaurant pricing for me or should I just settle for my Friday night Fish and Chips?
Businesses should cater to their customers as best they can but don't have to cater to everyone. - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Well they should.

Really can't believe this thread is still going! Its hilarious! You can "should'ves" all you like guys but it ain't going to happen. Dice have taken super leaps with their AI soldiers (not "bots" we have been politely informed). The remote processing required to achieve that must be horrendous, it cant all happen on a local machine i'm sure. These aren't going to be the bots from combined arms or the single player games etc, these are going to play with you, be part of your squads etc. They will be playing at your skill level, sometimes beyond. Whatever machine you have its never going to manage that on its own. "bots" dont exist any more.
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Xbox made a controller specifically designed for people with disabilities. If Xbox can do that, DICE can implement offline bots into Battlefield.

We don't really care whether you want it or not, you are entitled to wish what you want, but we don't understand how you can believe that a company like EA is going to spend money to jump through hoops because you want something. Please don't let any of us put you off asking though... I'm dead curious to know how long you'll keep insisting..
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChrisAWJBethel What in the blue blazes has that got to do with the price of fish!?
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 It's an example of a business making a compromise for a minority.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChrisAWJBethel What compromise have they made in producing that controller?
They also probably did a cost/benefit analysis through market research etc and deemed it viable.
DICE would have to make compromises to the online game plan.
DICE may have also done similar cost/benefit studies and deemed it unviable.
Until and unless you know definitively why there is no offline 'bot' mode, this is a pointless debate. It ain't coming, and possibly never will. - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 I'm pleased at your confidence in the assertion that Battlefield 2042 will not have offline bots.

Businesses should cater to their customers as best they can but don't have to cater to everyone.Businesses will ALWAYS consider what customer wants. Without customers there's no businesses. It's a golden market rule.
- 4 years ago@dragonslayerxxx1 Business don't *always* consider what customers want, unfortunately. I have been a store manager for a couple of international companies that failed to adapt and change with the times, and they went bankrupt. They wanted to force consumers to adapt to *them,* instead of them adapting to the changing needs of the *consumers.* By the time they figured it out, it was too late to restructure and recover. For example, Gamestop is trying to do it now, but as soon as consoles switch to no disc drive, I feel that Gamestop will be done--unless they can successfully make the switch to collectibles, toys, game-related merchandise and clothing (which they have been working to do, for the last few years).
- 4 years ago@ChugKendall I agree, developers are making it so that they can receive endless income by closing their game and creating a new one. But we pay for the game to get eternal pleasure and not temporary as it happened with all Battlefield on the Frostbite engine. Offline Conquest with bots (As it was in Battlefield on the RefractorEngine) will give us the opportunity to play the game forever and be happy and we will know that we pay for the game to play it as much as we want and not temporarily.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@dragonslayerxxx1 So should Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Jaguar be expected to make cheaper, lower quality cars, potentially at the expense of their higher end models and customers just so I can afford one?
Be sensible..... - Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
@tyl0413Assuming that it is not yet planned in, budgets would need to be reallocated, the same with manpower and resourses. This reallocation would mean that something from the planned programme would have to be delayed, reduced in spec and/or even cancelled.
By the God's, do you guys actually live in the Real world? - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Didn't you just criticize me for using insults?
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
@ChrisAWJBethelI have refrained from directly throwing insults towards any named individual, mearly expressing my exasperation at the inability for some to grasp basic project management principles.
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 You're making this argument like you've done this before. How do you know all this?
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
@ChrisAWJBethel30 years in Betties flying circus, whilst there may not be direct read across (the military is not a business), I know all to well the impact changes can have on an established plan.
Now working for a large Defence Company, I am at least aware of, if not expert in budgetary constraints.
