@Jesse165And who is that then? Lack of an offline 'bot' mode in and of itself will not cause the game to fail.
It is a simple fact and nothing you say will ever change that.

Yes I know there is already another thread for this but this post is too important to be buried so I am making it's own topic here.
And I seriously hope those from EA and DICE fully read this to understand why this is important.
I can completely understand and accept having to be online and connected to the servers in order to play with friends.
What we are asking for is that the Solo SinglePlayer Bot Matches be playable offline. That's it.
How does us playing offline effect others in any way whatsoever?
The only correct answer is that it doesn't.
It doesn't take away any "online features" either because we are still playing the Same Maps and Modes as everyone else.
Heck the Solo Bot Matches themselves are already in the game from the start!
All we are asking for is that we can eventually play them offline as well for those that have slow internet and especially for when the servers themselves are down.
The servers will go down eventually and probably even at release. They are still broken in Both TitanFall games and on Xbox at least they are still down for Battlefields 4 and 1 as well. This is Unacceptable!
The servers will probably be overwhelmed for Day 1 just like the launches for every other multiplayer game so far.
If so then the game will be completely unplayable no matter how good your own internet is... Unless we can play it offline.
This is why they are needed the most. I really want to get the Ultimate Edition to support DICE for adding the Bot Matches finally. But a big part of me doesn't want to pay $100+ for something that is completely unplayable when the servers are down... It really is as simple as that in the end.
Please DICE don't let this game die like those others have. Please let us play the Solo Matches with AI Soldiers Offline!
- 4 years ago@Jesse165 Agreed 100%. Given the extreme issues EA game servers have experienced this year, it seems like a no brainer that offline play should be enabled for a game that has AI bots. Battlefront 2 did it. Battlefield 2042 should as well.
- tyl04134 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Trokey66 Lol right now on PC with both Titanfall games, now try to blame than on anyone other than EA's servers.
and here's some other completely unplayable games bc they were always online, just a few i can think of rn:
Battleborn
Nosgoth
Lawbreakers
Deathgarden Bloodharvest
NFS World
BF Play4Free
BF Heroes
Darkspore
all the 90s and 2000s MMOs that aren't World of Warcraft
+ every single game that relies in it's entirety or for online features on closed source software hosted on centralized servers at the developers in past, present and future including this one unless they make it work offline. Click the Online Service Updates link on the bottom of this page to see a huge list of EA games that can no longer be played online (or at all). Remember it's not too late to realize defending anti-consumer corporations only does bad for you and everyone else, you only got to lose from this nothing to gain. - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace

@Jesse165So the games have Failed because the XBox servers are having a wobble totally ignoring the fact that PS servers, although not perfect by any stretch, are fine?
What this really needs is another thread on the subject......
Oh look, you already have done! The games failed because no one is currently playing them.
- Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 https://www.ea.com/service-updates
Go ahead. Read that list.
It's the list of servers that EA has shut down deliberately.
Eventually every Battlefield game will be added to that list.
When that happens they will be Completely Unplayable... Unless they have modes playable Offline.
If you don't have a better solution for that than you are better off leaving this thread entirely. Period. - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Jesse165 He's right. It's only a matter of time before Battlefield game servers get shut down, just like the original PC games.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
Just because a game is being sunset doesn't make it a failure!
By the God's.......
BF4 and BF1 a failure because xbox servers are having a wobble? Priceless!
And @ChrisAWJBethel comparing a software license to slavery just blows my mind, I mean really?
And you expect DICE to listen with arguments like this?
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Having a license to a piece of software in lieu of actually owning that piece of software is akin to slavery. It's like the Sword of Damocles.
A game's sunset indicates its failure. A game is only successful if people still play it after its life cycle has ended. It doesn't matter how much money the game makes, though it does contribute in a way. - TTZ_Dipsy4 years agoLegend
2042 servers are gonna be open for a long time.. like, a LONG time so I don't think you need to worry about them just pulling the plug without fair warning
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy Yes, but this indicates that sooner or later they will be shut down, and when they're shut down, the game will be unplayable. Offline bots prevent this from happening.
- Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace
@ChrisAWJBethelThat is EXACTLY what we are trying to do. Only those who want the game to fail would disagree with this and call Offline AI Soldiers a bad thing.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
Complete and utter Gentleman's Dangly Bits!
And you guys accused me of trolling!
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 You will not dissuade us from campaigning for full offline bot support in our video games. Period.
- Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChrisAWJBethel Just don't bother replying to him anymore. That is where I am with it.
If EA and DICE truly care about the longevity of Battlefield 2042 they will make it playable offline before the end just like they did with Battlefront 2 🙂 - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Jesse165 Yeah, you're probably right. I just hope all the modes will be fully supported.
- Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChrisAWJBethel Not sure about Portal since those modes will be created here on the EA Battlefield website so it will be online only. This is why it seemed like I was against it earlier in the thread even though I wasn't. I have accepted the fact that Portal will be online only so we can have up to 127 AI Soldiers in those matches.
However they should be able to make the All Out Warfare (2042 Conquest and Breakthrough) available offline even if they have to be smaller matches overall. - ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Jesse165 Agreed. Still, it would be nice if they crafted an offline version of Portal in addition to the other game modes.

@ChrisAWJBethelI can't believe you tried to play the Race Card, attempting to say that a game developer exercising their 'right' to do what they will with their property--and you having agreed to it, beforehand--is like slavery! Are you nuts??? There is absolutely NO comparison between what slaves endured and your whining because someone took their 'ball' (game) and went home with it. Unbelievable! I was taking you seriously, before, but now I am completely over it.
Just so you know, I am actually very much *for* having offline bots. I've said it many times in this forum. I just can't support you in how you think you own, and somehow should be able to dictate terms, of someone else's property. Their House, their rules.
It's just like if you went to a paintball field and purchased an Unlimited Play pass to play paintball. After two years, the owners decide to close up shop and retire. It's their business, and they can run--or close it--anytime they choose. The TOS you signed states that they may end play or shut down the business at anytime, but here you are whining because they closed--and somehow think you are entitled to force them to keep the doors open, just so you can keep playing. Sorry, but you don't own that business, the land, the equipment, or the labor of the people who would have to keep working in order for you to continue playing there.
This has gotten too ridiculous. This entitlement mentality stuff...I'm over it. Feel free to say what you need to say, but I'm done with that subject.
EA & DICE should continue to do whatever they feel is necessary for the betterment of their business. If you and I don't approve of their actions, we can always withhold our money. They are free to conduct their business as they choose, and we are free to give our money to someone else. Freedom on both sides. - Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace
@ChugKendallThat was beautiful and absolutely right.
We can keep giving them reasons to make the Solo Matches playable offline as many times as we want.
But in the end it's EA and DICE's decision whether we like it or not. - 4 years ago@Jesse165 Yes, and thank you, but I do hope EA & DICE will thoughtfully consider our input as they move forward with this game. I, too, would love an offline mode w/ bots, with leveling roughly equal to what it would be in muiltiplayer modes, so there's no advantage.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace
Being realistic about the possible/probable reasons why there isn't an offline 'bot' mode is not the same as being against such a mode (unless of course, any later introduction has an impact on the online experiance).
Until one know what cannot or has not been done, one canint suggest what can or should be done.
I care not a jot about offline 'bots' in the same way I don't care about TDM or hardcore but understand some, bizzarely, enjoy them so won't actively demand they exist.
