We all expected BF2042 to continue line 2 like it did with Battlefield 1942, 1972 (Vietnam), 2, Special Forces, 2142. We all want to remove forced internet connection so people can play with bots without connecting to DICE servers . .This will raise online and interest in the game.On behalf of the entire player community: please remove internet connection enforcement and allow people to play with bots offline.

I have to agree with OP. There is no need to buy game separately if it will be online only. Who want to play can just subscribe to EA Play service. In any case you just rent a game, when EA will decide to shut down servers, there will be nothing left.EA has so far failed to reply to a simple question, if game will be playable offline. Developers at DICE take years of hard work to develop such amazing models, mechanics, graphics that Battlefield games contain, just to be everything dumped after several years and there is nothing left for fans to keep playing this masterpiece. Unfortunately i won't be able to buy this game, If there wont be a simple offline mode. And it is quite sad that this is probably where my Battlefield veteran collection also end.

I'm starting to think that a offline mode would be wonderful. I used to be in the boat of having zero internet. I was limited to the games i could play during that time period. Especially how now days almost every game needs to be connected to the internet. Which sucks for certain people that want to play this game, or any other game for that matter, and don't have internet at all or slower internet where online play is practically difficult. Offline would be a huge positive for the game. But, if it doesn't have it. oh well, no real big loss there.

@Forkbeard84 First of all, BF 2042 will NOT have a Singleplayer campaign.But it's been confirmed that there will be new AI Soldiers (aka Bots) included in the game, which means you can play alone or even with a squad of friends (+the rest of you team being filled with AI Soldiers) against a full enemy team of AI soldiers. To test new stuff ect. or just mess around.Even tho if you could play alone with only Bots, we don't know if this is possible completely offline, since you might still play on a multiplayer map.Greets,Trav

sadly I’m with you. Just stupid that we can’t at least practice offline. Battlefield five and battlefield one at least has campaign. But I’ve always hated that we couldn’t practice with bots offline. Especially considering fewer and fewer people playing when the new game comes out. Takes ages to match make if at all. So if they ever want to sale more they really need to think of what op said.

@rouvioThere is absolutely nothing wrong with multiplayer in Battlefield series. This is where Battlefield shine, I totally agree. But some fans, like me, have been asking for the simple offline mode for years. Like dedicated offline sandbox mode/practice range which has nothing to do with progression in multiplayer (like Instant Action mode in Star wars Battlefront 2). We are just tired of "online only" games where developers/publishers decide to shut down servers after few years and we cannot play with game anymore. I want this cool weapons, gadgets and vehicles to stay so I can fool around in some dedicated offline mode, even when multiplayer servers dont exist anymore.If this game will have that mode, than I will instant buy ultimate edition, otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion, because I will be locked out of the content after few years.

Let people play with bots in Conquest mode without internet connection.

I would buy the gold edition again on PS4, but i refuse to pay for that PS plus crap ( it says that online play is required). I couldn't care less about MP... vs Ai is enough for me.

Many of us agree that it would be great if offline mode is added at some point and more players will buy game in my opinion. But I also respect the opinion of others who think this is not feasible and I understand why they think so.

@Trokey66 Control is what it's all about, unless they reverse their decision (which is unlikely by this point) best i can hope for it that one day modders make a private server. Real shame to turn an otherwise good looking game into disposable garbage to be killed in a few years. Remember SimCity 2013? They tried to pull the same thing and people told them to cut the * and they had to give up their "parts of the game are rendered on the server" lie once the game flopped. Darkspore too. If you got nothing to say then just don't. If you can't be bothered to care cool, go play the game despite the problems, don't actively defend them for creating the problems though.

@Trokey66 Players, fans, fanatics, users, dreamers, programmers and more. These are common nicknames for words. But all fans of the Battlefield series (For those who like to troll the submenu the word fans on "Users / Players") dreamed of playing offline with bots in the Conquest format in the new Battlefield on the Frostbite engine. Because everyone wanted to connect bots and destroy buildings with them and do different things. But everything was limited to the plot. This act was the most stupid and they realized about it in 2021. However, it's too late. Everyone wants not only to play with bots, but also the ability to run offline in the Conquest format, as it was in Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2142.

@tyl0413 Yes my friend, good. without bots, more precisely Conquest mode with offline bots, the game dies. Because they will shut down the servers in 3-4 years and create a new game. And people who bought the game will no longer be able to play normally. It turns out not buying a game but renting. Therefore, I want bots to be added to Battlefield 2042 so that it all pays off and people know what they are paying for.

No one knows the definitive reason for why there is no offline 'bot' mode but there will be several no doubt.

I am defending no one per se, just being realistic.
And it is really to simplistic and nieve to expect DICE to simply 'reverse their decision. Assuming it is technically possible, what are the budgetary and planning implications. What impact will it have on existing plans and how would it affect current targets and milestones?
