We all expected BF2042 to continue line 2 like it did with Battlefield 1942, 1972 (Vietnam), 2, Special Forces, 2142. We all want to remove forced internet connection so people can play with bots without connecting to DICE servers . .This will raise online and interest in the game.On behalf of the entire player community: please remove internet connection enforcement and allow people to play with bots offline.

I have to agree with OP. There is no need to buy game separately if it will be online only. Who want to play can just subscribe to EA Play service. In any case you just rent a game, when EA will decide to shut down servers, there will be nothing left.EA has so far failed to reply to a simple question, if game will be playable offline. Developers at DICE take years of hard work to develop such amazing models, mechanics, graphics that Battlefield games contain, just to be everything dumped after several years and there is nothing left for fans to keep playing this masterpiece. Unfortunately i won't be able to buy this game, If there wont be a simple offline mode. And it is quite sad that this is probably where my Battlefield veteran collection also end.

I'm starting to think that a offline mode would be wonderful. I used to be in the boat of having zero internet. I was limited to the games i could play during that time period. Especially how now days almost every game needs to be connected to the internet. Which sucks for certain people that want to play this game, or any other game for that matter, and don't have internet at all or slower internet where online play is practically difficult. Offline would be a huge positive for the game. But, if it doesn't have it. oh well, no real big loss there.

@Forkbeard84 First of all, BF 2042 will NOT have a Singleplayer campaign.But it's been confirmed that there will be new AI Soldiers (aka Bots) included in the game, which means you can play alone or even with a squad of friends (+the rest of you team being filled with AI Soldiers) against a full enemy team of AI soldiers. To test new stuff ect. or just mess around.Even tho if you could play alone with only Bots, we don't know if this is possible completely offline, since you might still play on a multiplayer map.Greets,Trav

sadly I’m with you. Just stupid that we can’t at least practice offline. Battlefield five and battlefield one at least has campaign. But I’ve always hated that we couldn’t practice with bots offline. Especially considering fewer and fewer people playing when the new game comes out. Takes ages to match make if at all. So if they ever want to sale more they really need to think of what op said.

@rouvioThere is absolutely nothing wrong with multiplayer in Battlefield series. This is where Battlefield shine, I totally agree. But some fans, like me, have been asking for the simple offline mode for years. Like dedicated offline sandbox mode/practice range which has nothing to do with progression in multiplayer (like Instant Action mode in Star wars Battlefront 2). We are just tired of "online only" games where developers/publishers decide to shut down servers after few years and we cannot play with game anymore. I want this cool weapons, gadgets and vehicles to stay so I can fool around in some dedicated offline mode, even when multiplayer servers dont exist anymore.If this game will have that mode, than I will instant buy ultimate edition, otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion, because I will be locked out of the content after few years.

Let people play with bots in Conquest mode without internet connection.

@EA_Darko Unless you can offer some insight in to why there is no offline 'bot' mode, closing this thread would be no bad thing!

Insight or not, this is clearly a hot topic that EA needs to address. Maybe we don't get it at launch. Battlefront 2 had limited offline play at launch as well. They added to it post launch which bare minimum is what BF2042 needs to do.

@ArchAngeL-PCXBut again with the 'needs to'! They don't NEED to do anything if it is not technically possible, outside of their current road map and not yet resoursed or they simply don't want to.

If the reason why is A or B above, you are snookered no matter how much you demand it, if it is C you're in with a chance as long as it isn't prevented by A and/or C.

If it happens, great you have what you want and I have no issue with that but if it doesn't, for the love of all things sacred try to understand why not.
It is the willful ignoring of any and all pissible/probable reasons why it is not there that is doing my napper in.

@Trokey66 Of course it's up to them, but with no single player or offline component after having one for so long, it's all but guaranteed many in the community will ask for it.

It happened in both Battlefront 2015 and Battlefront 2. Initially there were no plans to add offline, but the community requests were so strong they added it. In the case of Battlefront 2, the co-op didn't make it to offline until the very last update for the game.

@Trokey66 I personally understand what you're saying. If they can or want to do offline bots, great! If they can't, or won't, there are some gamers who will have tough choices to make. That's basically all I have left to say about it.

Will probably still pre-order it to show my support for them adding the AI Soldiers in general. But I hope and pray that the eventually make it playable Offline before it is too late.

@ArchAngeL-PCX Yeah, things got a little crazy for a bit, unfortunately, but I think everyone is chill now. Sometimes things happen, but at the end of the day, you pick each other up, shake hands and move on. No ill will here, and I hope others feel the same. Loved the Batman reference, too lol.

@Jesse165Right on. I have money down on it, too, but I want to see more actual gameplay, and read more details about modes and options, before I take that final plunge. I am cautiously optimistic.

@ChrisAWJBethel Yes but those never had Bot Matches at all like Battlefield 2042 will.

I think there is still no chance we will see AI Soldiers in those games for Conquest or Breakthrough but there is still hope for Offline Matches in 2042 even if it's not at launch.
