bfV vanilla maps sucked.
Also comparing a big desert map to a small destroyed city map is rather pointless.
OF course I guess that is thrown aside in the name of nonsense? Because nonsense fits the narrative. And reality doesn't.
Also graphics don't equal playability.
I'm not sure why anyone would have complained about too much clutter on maps in BF1 and BF5. Previous Battlefield maps had plenty of clutter and destruction (and levelution!).
The destruction, debris and atmosphere (graphic elements) helped gameplay IMO providing cover, realism and intrigue, rather than just lining up the ducks...
We need that back in 2042.

Clutter is not the same thing as texture detail. A desert map is not the same thing as a city map.
No one said BF1 wasa cluttered.
You can pick much better comparisons in BF2042 for detail.
