@MADMAC50K There are so many ways of dealing with air-vehicles
- Wildcat with
- Maingun
- Minigun
- AA lock on rockets
- 60mm FLak Pod
- Brawler
- APDS
- Minigun
- 20mm Flak Cannon
- LATV/Hovercraft
- Minigun
- 20mm Flak
- Tanks
- Main gun if you can hit it
- Minigun/HMG
- MAV
- 50mm
- HMG
- Flak pod
- 40mm Canister
on top, you can now shoot the Nightbird, stealth heli, and Jet with your main gun without using AP ammo. The problem is Liz is just way too convenient. It caters to the absolute lowest possible neron activation...
The problem is the average player does not care for the rest of the team... One recon with a Soflam can stall the progress of any heli by keeping it constantly spotted and targeted. but this community has the following motto: if everyone thinks of themselves, everyone is thought after

@X-Sunslayer-XI'm talking about infantry counters - not other vehicles. I shouldn't need to use another vehicle to damage aircraft, if AA weapons exist in the game.
Also - the damage from primary weapons since 6.1 update is laughable. Most guns do between 0.15-0.16 damage, meaning an average 41 round mag does a massive 6 damage! And only from a distance of 80m or less. So yeah, utterly useless....Ohh SOFLAM keeping a pilot constantly spotted? How much damage does that do.....? 😉
- X-Sunslayer-X2 years agoSeasoned Ace@MADMAC50K what makes you believe its balanced for one infantry player on the ground needing to have the ability to easily destroy any vehicle? its much harder to fly a heli and aim simultaneously than for someone to use a POV rocket with insane speed and mobility....

I honestly would not consider the current Liz able to easily destroy vehicles alone. The armor needs more hits than she can carry while the aircraft is plain hard to hit.
As a heli pilot I just /shrug and barrel roll out of the TV missile's way.

Yes you should. You can spawn as infantry literally every second. The vehicles spawn every two and a half minutes, and there are far fewer of them on the battlefield than infantry. They have the weaponry to kill vehicles. Also you don't need to use a vehicle to damage an aircraft. Literally get your head out of your * with that.

You forgot about the revamped Rao hack ability.
That thing can disrupt a vehicle so badly that it becomes a much easier target to any direct attacks.Lis is fine vs aircraft though, maybe even not good enough for those agile nightbirds.
It was the other two engineers that needed to get on her level, not the other way around.

- 2 years ago@UP_Hawxxeye takes too long to hack (like AA lock ons), most pilots pop flares before the hack is complete (which stops the hack)....

I am quite certain that the revamped Rao's mobility effect is independent of the flares.
The only way to counter it is with the cyber warfare suite at the expense of the instant repair.@X-Sunslayer-X Yes, it IS easier compared to the dumbfire rockets. But something being easier than 1 in a 100 chance to hit does not mean it is easy.
Though, I have a person in my platoon who feels more comfortable hitting careless helis with the M5 recoiless than liz.
- 2 years ago@X-Sunslayer-X And how many of those are actually effective? i.e. a good hard counter you can choose? I dont see it. Even not the Wildcat that cant hold its own in a 1vs1 with an half-experienced AH crew.

Regardless of anything else though, the Rao hack currently messes up even the best of the pilots who get close. They will be forced to retreat and you can repeat it infinitely (between the firewall cooldowns).

Well said but you really can't expect results wasting your time with this stuff. It simply does not fit the narrative of the 2042 engineer player, that it's the devs' faults they lack skill.

Wildcat is useless. It can't aim up properly and it's guns overheat too quickly to get kills unless the pilot is a zombie who lets you pump the entire belt into him. A little bird can circle strafe you within your elevation dead zone and laugh at you while he bombs you into oblivion.
The rest of the weapons have no range and no useful damage output.
Do main cannon hits even kill helos outright now? I remember in BF2 they would, but that was continually nerfed because of pilot whiners crying about how unfair it was to be shot down by a tank.
Pilot whiners think that just listing weapons that do scratch damage to a faming little bird are weapons that "deal with" a helo, when actual gameplay potential which for almost every weapon on that list is zero.- UP_Hawxxeye2 years agoLegend

The dead zone of the turret elevation + the turn speed are really shameful.
Unless there are APS gadgets in range, the Wild cat will eat a salvo of rockets and get to critical health before it can even turn its guns toward the source of the rockets.The whole point of AA turrets is that they are supposed to turn super fast to keep up with the things they are supposed to shoot down.

Well with the 6.2 air vehicle buffs, the wildcats don't stand a chance. Played a few rounds tonight and the wildcats didn't last longer than 30secs now that the jet rockets have 800m effective range and there are 2 Jets on most maps.
So really looking forward to the Lis nerf now when theyll become even more dominant and OP. Superb work DICE, well done. RIP BF infantry gameplay.
