@sk1lldNow that you kindof mentioned it, the BF2042 maps are poorly balanced in both:
- size: many of them are too small for proper vehicle gameplay, even the overhauled maps did not improve on this. Both air and wildcat very quickly know where they are on the map, they are that small. There is no surprising an enemy pilot anymore. Unless Kaleidoscope with all the highrise buildings. Not mentioning Hourglass here, because that map has a massive basespawnkilling problem by the AH's and one stretch of highrise that makes it easy to guess where the wildcat could be if it's not in the desert
- lack of cover against airattacks: I still remember BF4 maps that managed to be alot more balanced in this aspect. Ridges, hills, roofs, houses you could park in, bridges, etc. Very few are to be found in BF2042 if you are in the wildcat or tank. Air having a huge out of bounds red area (for groundforces) to chill in below or above radar makes it all the more sour.
