Lobbies / Private Servers

Question

I'm sure you've heard this 10,000x, but can you add actual private servers and lobbies? It's a normal feature of almost every FPS game, and has been since the first iteration of the Battlefield franchise.

I'll give an experience.

Playing Battlefield 4 on a certain server with the same people multiple days a week. They got to know me, one sent me money to buy more alcohol (lol).

In Battlefield 1 (the ww1 game) I constantly played on the same servers with people and we would joke around and have fun in all-talk, because over time me all got to know eachother.

That's part of what makes FPS games so great. The connections you can make.

And while my examples are weird, it just goes to show you don't know how life will work out if you don't try.

Agreed, they need to implement more social features, it's pretty baffling how some essential features were completely stripped from launch.

What I am trying to say, is that private servers are a foundation of what keeps a game going.

Look at Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, etc.

They aren't relying on high-end graphics. It's a community that grows up around those games.

It seems like you aren't even trying to foster a community. I'm sorry that people are mean and say bad words. Have general servers to play on that filter that out.

But in private servers let the experience be up to the people who run them.

@mathrocker86&nbsp;Well, you can already run your own servers in Portal so there is that. I do with it with my friends by simply adding a password.&nbsp; I know its not the same but depending on what you're trying to do, its something I guess.Perhaps at some point they will reintroduce the server browser for the rest of the game and implement private / rentable servers.
