Low player count
As of this moment, there are ~4.8k people playing this either altogether or through Steam alone This game came out like 3 months ago and it's already at this low of a level DICE and EA F'd up... ba...

New content will probably get a lot players back, whether they will stay is another story...
@cso7777 Season 1 summer release for content is too far in the future to keep enough players round without having the dreaded "Waiting for Players" death spiral.
Making Portal Free to Play would add player immediately, and then some of those players might buy the game to play the base modes.
Even official TDM in Portal is "Waiting for Players" in the US late at night and it is only a 16x16 game mode. The numbers are so low you run across the same players constantly, and it now groups players across multiple time zones as the ping/latency has increased late at night abut 40% versus playing during the day.
Dice needs to get EA to allow some massive BF 2042 upgrades this month as "Summer 2022" is waaaaay too late.
The 1,000 to 3,000 players left by then won't be enough to keep this game alive and/or profitable...

- @DeepSixxxx Game is certainly not ready for FTP, can't just open up a game like this to the public.
