Low player count
As of this moment, there are ~4.8k people playing this either altogether or through Steam alone
This game came out like 3 months ago and it's already at this low of a level
DICE and EA F'd up... bad

We constantly get new content, but we need content people want to use.
I personally don't want red and golden weapon skins, hill billy costumes or weapon charms, or camos we don't have any environment for, where they could make sense.
What we need is a consistent idea how some mechanics should work.
Like should armor piercing ammo ignore armor on specialists?
Should armor piercing armor penetrate wood, the thin steel walls of containers?
Should Dozers shield really protect better than tank armor?
So the core system needs to become a system, not a bunch of children play room rules. Consistency is key, and I miss that a lot.
This is such a lose/lose situation for DICE, really...
They lost their main playerbase by making this game. They now have to fix it to get the old BF fans back. With a lot of time and work it might happen... We all want a good modern BF. Even though I don't really see it happen. There is too much going on in this game.. I just don't see any reason to not just play BF3/4/1/V instead because they are better in any way possible... There is not a single feature in 2042 that stands out to convince me to play it atm... Everything is a straight up downgrade. Even graphics and animations... next gen btw...
While they try to fix this mess they don't deliver new content. So even the players who like the game (which is obv. a minority) might get bored over the next weeks and months with no new content geting added...
Their concept of having a live service game need these players. Their are more likely to buy the cosmetic stuff. I highly doubt BF Veterans care a lot for skins or weapon charms... It's the opposite. They can't go too ridiculous with skins or the core fans will riot again...
So in the end... numbers go down, sales for battlepasses will be abysmal, EA sad, DICE sad, Fans sad...
So hard it might sound they just should do their original plan...
Just add the Santa Boris crap and whatever... Keep the game as casual as you need, spam out mediocre content and hope that the ~10% of players who are left and like the game get satisfied.
Instead of adding legacy features that the current playerbase don't seem to care about (because they play it even without all the stuff), use the ressources to start a new BF title and make that one a REAL loveletter to the fans!
Don't expect much preorders but if it's really good the players will buy it on release or shortly after. We love BF after all.
@NiCeDiCe90there is litteraly noone to make it, most of the devs of bf3 bf4 bf1 even bf5, are gone !
Its total disaster , if only people knew who are making this game they be terrified.
On the other hand it is good, the head of EA,DICE( who decide the policy of company) might be fired in couple of years.( Because investors and company are loosing money , even 200millions in a year is too much)
2,600 playing via steam, 8pm US East time. primetime.
I'm not sure sinking any more effort into this game is to the benfit of the company at this point. Why publish a roadmap when 98.1% of the people who bought it arent going to ever see it. 105,000 to 2,000. 2.5 months.
Yawn, Uninstall and move on. Even COD is more interesting then this ***.
