Maps visually lack of war & battlefield atmosphere

In my opinion, the maps of BF2042 visually doesn't deliver the feeling of a big war. Which isn't good.

Everything is sterile, clean, in a good shape, no dirt or pre-caused destruction or whatever anywhere.

Every map feels like a well cleaned laboratory (except Hourglass with it's sand here and there).

But how can this be in a world full of natural disasters, fallen states and a war of super powers?

I mean, the game has the word BATTLEFIELD in it's name and I think I didn't even saw one single sandbag in this game.

Where is the battlefield?

Where is the dirt?

Where is the pre-caused destruction of the war or natural disasters?

Where are the sandbags?

Where is the grittyness?

Where is the visual war atmosphere?

Please change this clean style in upcoming maps. And I would love if you could visually overhaul the current maps and give them this feeling, but I doubt that you have the manpower to do this when you have to create new map content at the same time.

Or am I the only one with this opinion?

Edit:

And all maps feel static. Please give us more destruction (the unique core aspect of BF for me) and events that really impactfully change a map. The rocket on Orbital is a blender, it doesn't have any impact. The tornado doesn't have any impact as well.

  • Doesn't help that there's not a single artillery dropped, no tomahawks, no predator drone, no fixed triple A, no fixed ToWs and basically nothing a true BF game should have.

I mean we have a laptop device for calling in vehicles/drones just add in some missile strikes, artillery strikes and get rid of the stupid Motion Sensor grenade and bring back UAV scans.

What gets me most angry is this is meant to be 22 years into the furute and not a single advancement in weapons and vehicles and things like the F35 might not even be in service in 2042 but you get what i mean right. I don't expect lazer guns and railguns but where is the Javelin for example.

They seem to have been really lazy because they just put the Soflam in the game which makes the M5 into a super weapon that can track planes even.

I think the sound of war makes a huge difference and everybody knows BF 2042 sound is TERRIBAD.

  • @Ruggels I dont like lots of destruction to be honest, I think there was too much in BF5, some flags became so open there was no cover. I like close quarters fighting in buildings. lots of destruction ruins that for me.
