I'm going to give it up - at least for now. I'll have a look again after the full release and a day one patch. Who knows, they might have improved it to a point where it's not so irritating and unenjoyable. It could possibly evolve into something good but they have their work cut out for them.
But as it stands, it's absolutely not something I want to spend my free time on. Which is pretty sad, BF is the one franchise I've stuck with in the past 16 years since BF2. When I think of the high points of the series and compare it to what they've served up this time, it's such a disappointment.
It reeks of a development driven by marketing and following trends. Lots of touted standout "features" but core basic battlefield-y stuff just not done right. Maybe over time, they've lost too many of the key people who knew what a battlefield game should be, I don't know. But this ain't it.
@FatherDed I totally agree with every word, spending time trying to force yourself to enjoy something which is so fundamentally flawed is just not fun.
It is indeed a far cry from the good old days. They are poorly designed maps and the graphics at times are so bland and cartoonish they look like something from years back.!!
