Massively disappointed with BF 2042

Have to say BF2042 IS a massive disappointment, not what I had expected or hoped for.

I dislike the whole menu system, very clunky and not intuitive at all.

I hate not having a server browser and having to join games which invariably end shortly after joining

and then to crown it all after the round it starts the whole matchmaking ritual all over again. Boring ........

I cannot choose to join a map I would like to play and have ended up playing the same maps time after time.

Never get the chance to run through the the maps in order its all totally random and very annoying.

I can't favourite a server.

There is no proper scoreboard.

And now I am unable to join a game due to this Unable to load persistence data issue.

  • Also  the complaints are in themselves pointers to DICE for what needs to be fixed. Never mind the obvious fact that they must have been already well aware of them when they released it.

Some issues in no particular order...

    • Far too many scenes of animations, cut scenes, load scenes, map scenes, scene scenes, before and after you can deploy into a game.
    • Choosing a spawn point accurately with the controller stick is difficult. Have to use up/ down on D-Pad to work you're way through.
    • Having a load your weapon animation when you spawn renders you useless for a second or 2.
    • Loss of sprint during gameplay making it feel like you're crouched for seconds or until you're dead.
    • Being pushed 10 feet in front of you by an invisible force.
    • Weapon attachments not showing
    • Hit registry very poor. ( Video clips for proof )
    • Sound ( miles away from the pin point accuracy and volume of BFV on enemy footsteps whilst your squads are very loud. Vehicles whisper whilst driving or flying next to you )
    • Foliage look beautiful - buildings are plain and bland. Gun fights in buildings can take you away from the frustration of being destroyed by aircraft or tanks outside but any kind of building is becoming less and less in Battlefield, more so here than ever.
    • Far too much open land without any points of interest. Possible need of more capture points in between on Conquest?
    • A good half of the Specialists aren't that useful.
    • No information on if anyone is around to revive you. Worked very well on BFV.
    • Hazard Zone is bland. Lacks jeopardy, fun or interest.
    • Just Conquest and Breakthrough only in 2042?
    • The menu system is clunky and not streamlined.
    • Sliding was better in the beta. The running speed a tad too slow.
    • Weapon attachment stats/ info randomly disappears.
    • Never, ever was there an issue with the traditional scoreboard.
    • Random events like a tornado or sandstorm feel novelty at best.
    • Weapon choice limited.
    • You can crawl when downed in Hazard Zone, couldn't it be implemented in other modes?
    • M5 projectiles are slow and weak.
    • Helicopters Hovercrafts are very powerful. You wouldn't know on many occasion if one was sat on your head until rockets blast down upon you killing you.
    • Infantry based modes ( not Portal ) should of been included.
    • Map design on most are are uninteresting at best. Doha for example, mostly sand dunes but at the E capture points we have something of interest in skyscrapers, but not enough.
    • Map rotation doesn't exist as I have played the map in India about 40 time now and the other ones once or twice.
    • You need a BR otherwise this will lose any longevity it has soon.

...I really want to love this. After putting in 1400 hours on BFV and hoping ttheir opinions their opinions his was going to give me another 1400. Its early days but overall it feels like a mess, efforts not concentrated on 2042 and time wasted on dated remasters.

@Legion245  This looks like detailed constructive criticism to me. Most people have voiced their opinions  in a sensible manner as this example clearly shows.
