the pump shotgun is terrible. It has no range and does little damage. This weapon is a meme. 2042 is not designed for shotguns to be useful, and that's ok, but why is the pump shotgun so weak? It is by far the worst weapon class on the battlefield, most engagements (vehicles, mid to long-range fire fights) make it useless. It's practically the worst weapon in the game and it also has the weakest stats? This doesn't make any sense.Please buff the range and damage of the MCS-880. A one-shot kill should be fairly consistent from around 15 meters at least.

@CodaciousMan again, this is a heavy meta weapon game, either you are playing the weapons that are best in class or you will suffer...thats just how it is and i doubt DICE will even bother anymore with many balance changes

@CodaciousMan Agree - that shotgun is trash - 12M auto and NVK-S22 is way better options. If this MCS-880 should be a good shotgun it needs to be like the drilling in BF5 - hit hard and long but slow pump action (as it already has). This shotgun needs to be a on shot kill gun at 5-8 meters and not 2 shot kill at 5 meters as today. I never use it for that reason - I use the 2 other auto shotguns for that reason. On stranded in the ship I go for high rof smg or something like that - never shotguns.

@CodaciousMan I totally agree. It's not a shot gun it's a pop gun! I have to fire 4-5 times at close range even when playing a solo game against bots. I hope they don't waste any decent skins on it. In real life at fairly close range and you're not wearing a vest, it's 1 shot and you're dead. So they could reasonably nerf it up to an effective level of damage and still be realistic.

It use to be great. Now, people literally survive point blank head shots, sometimes multiple. Same for the 12M Auto, I got T1 on that and kept playing with it, it was that fun. It had it's * which prevented it from being OP, but in close quarters you can just 1-2 shot kill everything.

The NVS also, reload is too slow.There should be a reason to chose the NVS and MCS over the 12 M auto, whether it is more customization or slightly better stat (damage per pellet, spread, etc.).But as far as balance in comparison to other shotguns, I do not think any shotgun needs balance. In close quarters up to 25 m, from what I see, shotguns beat SMGs.

This weapon can't be viable. I just want it to not be useless. I love pump shotguns in fps games, it is my favorite class of weapon to kill time with when I get bored. I can't do that in this game though because it is just that bad.

I just died multiple times on Flashpoint Conquest Xbox to a guy using the MCS-880.
His friends I could take out just fine with my AC9 but not him.
Never tried it myself but this guy at least was superb with it.
I believe he ended in top 5 on his team.
