No thanks, indirect explosive spam isn't fun to play against.
yes it is, play a round of enlisted, air strikes and mortar strikes really soften everything up when used correctly

In the older games an enemy mortar user was my main target if I used a mortar of my own - xVulture3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@AbsentOmega6666 The last thing this game needs is more explosions/explosives.

I wish support could get some of these.

Neither are snipers but they're in every game. Mortars are a counter to camping rooftop snipers so if they work exactly like BF3's manned mortar tubes that can be counter mortared they'd be balanced. I enjoyed the mortar/counter mortar game in BF3.
I'd be down for mortars, the only concern that I'd have is that with BF2042 open maps, there are less buildings for cover and more locations a player can place a mortar to get kills.
Buildings / large elevation steps in terrain in previous games did not just provide cover, they prevented the player shooting the mortar from shooting in a particular direction - ie hitting the building on the way up.
Also, they would need to be BF3 style manned mortars, not BF4 remote mortars.
