New idea for Battlefield (Combat Sandbox)

You guys have the opportunity to show our community something different…

Why not using the real combat situation to change the gaming market? One time you guys used tablets and iPads as new ways of playing… It's time to bring it back… And make everyone join our battle...

Command and supply chain as:

Command (tablets, ipads, mobile, consoles or AI)

  • They are supposed to designate missions for capitains

Capitains

  • The only ones who receive the missions and control the squad... Can be voted by the troop and confirmed by command.

Troop

  • Responding captains on chat or game HUD interaction (pointing, standard communication, etc.). Execute the missions in camp and are assigned by captains to activities.

Transport/specialists

  • Who wants to play alone or helping supply via, Player/AI troop transportation, planes/helis for supply/troop insertion, air combat, etc.

The combat sandbox idea is to build in game…

  • Communication antennas
  • Drone jamming antennas
  • AA positions
  • Tanks and vehicles positions blocking roads etc.
  • AI Forward outposts (improving AI combat capability in 3 lvs by delivering supplies.
  • Other logistic stuff...

The map should have some spots with that deliver/building capability.

  • These many spots area abroad the map and are supposed to be used by the commander at his/her discretion.

Thinking about tickets, they should be earned by building the facilities, the facilities are not shown in the map with no recon by opposite players…

I think this would be a nice start for a new era of gaming and the name Battlefield would make more sense...

  • I've been thinking on this the last day or so and I kind of like the ideas thrown out here. It would give a good, like, mobile battlefield game, so to speak. What I mean is... It's essentially "Battlelog" that can load into the active playing fields, however, the "Commander" can only be played from said "Mobile game, app" w/e you want to call it. And to keep players from within the match being commander, make it RNG join games and not specific server browse.

From there, the concepts, ideas, rewards, etc., are beyond me. I'm sure  the coding and such would be a pain in the *.

@Mephiticshepard Yeah, the ideas listed here make me think of 2142, where the Commander assets were in-game and available to attack / destroy.

To me, this just kicks it up a notch and I think one implementation of this would be similar to 2142, where the the assets are already in-game, but each different, capturable zone has a different additional asset for the commander / team to benefit from. They could be destroyed / repaired as necessary and would benefit the capturing team.

This would be the simplest implementation I can think of, but there are still a lot of unknowns for this as well… like Commanders.
  • @sidewinderplasma  Personally, I will not use my phone to connect with any game. The phone has become your tracking device and identifier in this Digital Age where data is the new gold, and I prefer to keep mine as far away as possible from all of this. And if they ever require phone connection to play, I will be done with all of it. Just a personal preference.

  • The idea is not for players on consoles... is for players with no consoles also... I think BF 4 had this option some time ago... The idea is to include everyone to the battlefield gameplay even no console players!

I like these ideas, and I really liked battlelog for bf4.

I think AI commanders is a must, because when only one team had a commander it made the match unbalanced.

  • Yes sir... That's why they should have something to deal with the initial lack of interest in certain roles...
