@-DFA-ThumpYou're 'murican aren't you?
Silly question, of course you are otherwise you would know that the rest of the world may not follow your version of simplified English.
I did used the correct term as I am from the UK.
There was a splash of sarcasm, a pinch of irony and yes, a modicum of 'tongue in cheek' but over all, my point still stands.....
You took one look at that picture, saw a few details you didn't like and made an assumption the prevents you from seeing the wood for the trees. I could not agree more we need more maps. I am still a string believer that they could have dropped entire "Portal" mode(s) and built out 2042 maps from some of the older maps. Could you image if they ad combined a 1-3 maps from BF 3 as one big map. Those little towns and lots of tree lines to fight from. I am bored of these maps and I really do not like wide open maps. They missed the mark so much on some of the maps. When I first saw the city scapes on kaleidoscope and hourglass, I was like yes battle in the city. Nope both of them are either fighting in the desert dunes or on a big grass common. Hopefully they fix things or this will be the third game in the series that i will be putting on the shelf to collect dust.
- @Trokey66 Too many Brit friends to take a shot at your nation bud, but I could easily say the same as it is specific to British English phrasing (not "the rest of the world"). To address the point at hand as far as the map is concerned. Tell me how you look at that and not see just more open terrain combat where it is a green version of Breakaway?
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@-DFA-Thump First clue is the massive expanse of trees!
Multi level.
Rocks.
Built up area.
And that is just from that poor picture.

.....and unfortunately, some hold the same, myopic view of us here in the U.S. I have friends and family from the UK (I'm a 1/4 English myself). A lot of wonderful people but I've met some cheesy ones too (go figure, just like here). The difference is I don't hold a dim view of the U.K. based on those few. ....c'est la vie.Again, Google is your friend. Both iterations of the same saying are right. .....look it up.
As for the news of this new map, there's not a lot to go on. Looks like an artist's rendering. Besides that, it's not even official so whos to say if it will even be a map we will have in the future or even if we do, that it will look exactly like that.
- @Wessmarc And fix the matchmaking to play console vs console.
- @Trokey66 All of which are in Breakaway minus the trees...and they are way off to the sides where it wouldn't make any sense to put objectives. It looks like two levels of flat terrain with intermittent buildings (like every other map in 2042).
- @Kean_1111 I did bud, thanks for the tip about google, I'll have to google that. Also, it was already addressed by Trokey, so good job beating a dead horse? WRT the picture, it's what we have to go on and looking at various renderings of other maps such as Orbital...they stuck to the general design. I'm willing to wager that they are going to make a relatively linear pathing with hills leading down into open areas with woods on the side and a massive drop off like Breakaway. They will add some kind of earthquake thing as the "environmental effect" like the torando and call it a day. We'll see how close I get in the next 3 to 4 months.

He's so good at dissecting 2042 maps that he only needs 2 hours of playtime on every map to know everything about the map and whether it's a good or bad map.
And his ability to rate maps is getting stronger because he can now do it just from one image!
The guys a genius, a right battlefield savant.
- @Tank2042Man Take a quick trip around the youtube block bud. You'll see my take on 2042's maps are not unfounded. Doesn't require a level 70 to figure it out (for most).
