Meanwhile I've played 2 rounds of Breakthrough as well. I was lucky enough to be on the defending team twice. Can't imagine playing as attacker on breakthrough on this map is fun.
It's a meat grinder, and that's exactly what it's good for, grinding guns, equipment, heals revives etc.
I'll stick to Conquest on this map, but only in a mix rotation with the other maps. Grinding this on a 24/7 server is just not my thing, and it is not what Battlefield is supposed to be.- ElliotLH2 years agoHero+
Only played it on Breakthrough in Portal (I'm ill so don't feel like PVP right now), and so far I really like it.
I'm a big fan of infantry grinders, like Locker, Metro, Argonne, Fort Vaux, so this is right up my alley. I can certainly see that there will be a lot of explosive spam in PVP, but I guess that's to be expected.
Looking forwards to seeing how it plays against real players.

The map has a nice atmosphere.
played half a round of conquest and left. What a crap map, the worst.of the season, only nades and sph, hardly time to play,.spawn die,.spawn die. Comparison with Metro is not in order, that was.an ex excellent map, again further down the drain with bf, Im sure won't be playing this map often.

I agree that its good to have an infantry grinder map, it adds a bit of much needed variety imho.
I get the Locker / Metro vibes playing Redacted and the High Tech (Russian) end reminds me a bit of the underground area in the Exposure map.
The outside reminds me a bit of the Crysis games it has that sort of feel to it.
The map seems well enough optimised and plays smoothly with no bugs encountered so far.
Explosive spam is definitely rampant at times, hopefully it may settle down a bit.
Hope you are on the mend soon bud. 👍

It is exactly what some people wanted. Not really for me but its a good choice to clear the weekly assignments.
- Hudson15312 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kona_uk I was gunna hold off with the anti cheat comment but after playing 4hrs straight on redacted, it’s quite obvious if the new anti cheat has been activated I think someone forgot to turn it on.

New map is trash! It's nothing but a spam fest of grenades and explosives. There is no skill set required to play this. But I do realize some people like this play style...so, to each his own. Season 6 was a disappointment over-all, as it was totally catered to the newbies. The update was designed for newcomers and consoles. Playing on PC, with over 1400 hours, I was getting obliterated by newbies on consoles with lower than a 25 level. They need to get rid of crossplay, so people can play on a level playing field. It really is ridiculous how much aim assist has been given to consoles. I just wish they would make the game fair for everyone. This whole aimbot crap for consoles has gotten out of hand. They may as well make the game a one shot kill for all weapons and auto aim for everyone, that way everyone would be the same and no skill would be required. That would be totally fair...right? Bottom line, just remove crossplay, or fix it so people can play the with crossplay off.

The overall design and feel of the map reminds me a lot of Destiny 2, which I really dig. There's enough lanes and cover to move around and not feel completely stuck like you often would on maps like Metro or Lockers.
It's a fun map for a couple of rounds, but requires way too much concentration to just keep at it for long periods of time, at least for me. The problematic hit reg starts to wear on me as well. I don't think people are out right cheating, maybe manipulating their network somehow? Whatever it is, you just see it more when playing a meat grinder map like this.
No Helicopters! That a plus. Why can't we get more maps without them? Or with less vehicles?
It would be nice to get more maps like this in the future. More infantry focused, but maybe a little bigger and in a city or something?

This might be the best of all the infantry clusterfalke maps in Battlefield History.
I am genuinely impressed with the amount of flanking options available and how parts of it feel less closed up while still being indoors.
It will definitely become the best map for ranking up a lot of masteries too.
Even as a vehicle enjoyer, I consider this map an amazing addition to the game.
