Having played a few rounds I am pleased to say I really like Spearhead so far. 👍Graphically I think it is one of the best so far, if not the best.I think DICE have done a decent job and created a map which has a BF feel to it, with lots of new assets.The rounds I have played have been fairly close and the map flows pretty well imho..So far so good............................

As the title states I think the "cubes" need several ziplines (preferably all 4 corners) to be able to access the roofs.It would cut down on the vehicle parking lots up there as well as spawn beacons being placed where the opposing team has no way to access the roof particularly in Breakthrough mode.

This map was clearly designed earlier on with 128 players in mind. The building interiors are huge and the map seems too large for 64 players in Breakthrough. Removing 128 player breakthrough is still the worst decision made for this game so far. Spearhead is a beautiful map as all of them in BF2042 are. I have only played one breakthrough match and the defenders were annihilated, but this happens on every map in the game when the team is terrible.

It's pretty cool, still need to find all the hidden routes to properly understand the map.Looks very very nice, best looking map in my opinion. The foliage and ground cover looks brilliant.The rocky / hilly terrain reminds me of some of the levels in BF1.I kind of wish they put 10% less effort into making this map look good in order to spend the time porting an old map to portal.That said, looks very very nice - the environmental modellers and map designer have outdone themselves on that front.

Start with a few positives.....- the size of the map is good. Works well on 128 players. Might be a bit big for 64 with few encounters and lots of traversal.- the building interiors are great. Nice CQ combat in there. Couple of nice hidey spots for beacons (look up when you come in through the ventilation fans as McKay) and good lanes for turrets.- the new tank is pretty powerful and the flat terrain (also a negative later on) lends itself to bunkering up on a hill and pounding a flag in support of infantry.- flag locations have lots of cover (but capture zones could definately be larger).On the flip side.....- doesn't seem like the testing team has any really good pilots on the crew. There are far too many out of bounds areas of cover for aircraft to hide.- the map needs to widen out significantly once you get past the first set of capture points for each team. There are too few avenues to move forward and once people realise the utility of AT mines on this map it is going to be near on impossible to get anything but aircraft past these points.- the buildings absolutely need entry points from the rooftop.- the ventilation fan entry points to the main buildings need more access routes to the interior of the buildings (only two seems like a huge waste of the time spent coding this avenue of attack).- players need to be able to "control" the access doors to the buildings like on other maps- the bunker complex in the centre of the map has been completely wasted. This could have been the primary capture point and an anchor in the "C" sector (make it three flags) but right now it serves no purpose at all.- the flat terrain between flags leaves players exposed when traversing between flag points / sectors "B" and "A". There needs to be far more cover in this area.- the map favours the RU team hugely when moving from the centre towards the opposing main base. The RU team has heaps of cover and a short hop from "C" to "D" flags. The US team has to pack a picnic lunch and hope they introduce an invisibility perk to get from "C" to "B". Suggestions......- more entry points into the main buildings (more from the vents, new ones from the rooftops).- more cover between "C" and "B" sectors.- make some DEEP infantry traversal canyons through the terrain.- increase the verticality of the terrain.- make the side of the map (the OOB line) into a 300 foot high canyon wall (also increasing lighting diversity with one side of the map light and the other dark). This would remove the OOB aircraft retreat zones.- allow players to blast off sections of the cliff wall (similar to BF3 where you could drop the side of a building on enemies with explosive ordinance) killing enemies whilst also creating piles of rubble as cover to move forward to.- this map seems like it was designed to show off the new tank on the side near the RU main base but got a bit confused as to the direction on the US side.I know we're not likely to get many more maps (the biggest failure of all as far as BF2042 is concerned) but it would be nice if the maps we do get would have some sort of "identity" as far as gameplay is concerned.Is it CQC?Is it long range armour and aircraft combat?Is it a sniper's dream?Will the aircraft dominate? Will the tanks? ....or will the coordinated infantry squad reign supreme?Battlefield games used to tailor their maps to specific gameplay scenarios.That's part of what made this game so good.That focus has been lost in design and trying to squash everthing together on every map all of the time has just created an unmitigated cluster(bleep).Please try and recapture what made previous Battlefield titles so good in the next game.The mark has been missed pretty widely with this one.Kap.

Still not sure what they have done to the game but still getting killed with 1 hit whereas takes almost a full clip to kill someone. Or running to the flag and getting killed by some random enomy sitting on a hill. Not fun at all.

New Spearhead map.....what's your verdict. ?

I personally think that it is indeed an awesome map. I am especially a fan of the close combat inside the buildings.

@RayD_O1 Overall I enjoy the few matches I played. this was made for the 128 player mode being the size of the map. Conquest mode for me anyways is really big. I am more of a BT fan. But I like it. Will play later.

My second and final breakthrough match of the evening went so much better than the first. Our defending team won by mostly locking down the building on the second set of objectives.
It was a fun match. There are lots of good places to put the turret in the buildings. Looking forward to trying conquest on Spearhead later this evening.
