First of all, this decision should not depend on the platform, but on the input method.
Second of all, Consoles should get native M&K support.
And then, yes, absolutely, disable crossplay by default or even leave this out completely. As long as the game is good, the player base is large enough to be able to join a server (preferably one I select via the SERVER BROWSER and that I can stay in and keep playing the full MAP ROTATION until I decide to stop playing).
But given these requirements it seems this is not in the cards for 2042. Let's hope they get wiser when the next iteration comes along. Otherwise it might be the last.

I'm always in favor of consoles getting native M/KB support.
