I was kinda hoping they were going to get rid of it during patch 5.2. Just stinks right now using LMGs with it.
I play a lot of BattleBit and it has horisontal recoil, vertical recoil and spread, but the gun-play in BattleBit is really good, it feels like a mix of BFV and BF4 and it requires some 'skill' (tapfire). So it can be done right.
I don't know why Dice have made the gun-play in 2042 so boring, especially after BFV where the gun-play was some of the best they ever did.
In BFV they nerfed the guns without them feeling like random peashooters, now 2042 feels more like BF4, but without tap-fire working as it should.
Trashfield has become complete crap. Absolutely nothing works as it should! Now these geniuses have broken weapons. Rifles and machine guns shoot it is not clear where.
@cso7777 i ain't saying it can't work with random spread in a game. As long as it's applied in a balanced way to guns, it can work too.
I just say a shooter game without random spread would be better imo. As you get more rewarded for good aim cause all bullets are about to hit as long as you stay on target.

- @Its_Travis_199 I agree that spread is a bad mechanic, not having the bullets go where the gun points is a fundamental flaw with spread. You have no visual indication of why you don't hit.
And you should be able to control spread with tap-fire (like BF4), in 2042 this is not really working.
I think they should put some randomness to recoil instead (when autofiring), to reduce range, and then make it possible to counter this by tap-firing. It will work just as spread, but your bullets still goes where you gun points and you can visually see why you don't hit. BFV did this to some extent and it worked way better than 2042 (even though tap-fire in BFV was not very efficient).
Spread solves a problem (autofire at range), but does so in bad way.@cso7777 yeah, agree. 🙌

Went back to 2042 after last few patches - and game is STILL LACKLUSTER RANDOMFEST!!!
Gunfight are still nonsensical as they were. No matter if using tap/burst, single or full-auto. Game randomly decides out come each time.
They is no single instance of predicting the outcome. You tap-fired guy from 100m with AR? Next time it would not work. And then i can SUDDENLY OUT OF NOWHERE full-auto beam from over 100m...
DMR's are the worst in this regard. Forget about waiting for crosshair to reset. Bullets will get randomly anywhere but close to target.
Close quarters? F u player - bc you beamed guy from hipfire once forget about second.
This game does not deserve even mixed reviews. It is still a spaghetti, not properly developed game in ANY area.
@szyMussone of the last few patches screwed gunplay at all, it feels so bad and washy.
@Agape_AnatomeI can agree to the railgun tank problem, it's a bad thing to be added and just made it so not only the wildcat stands in the backline, now you also have some sniper tank that shoots everything it can easily(condors, helis etc).
Most times you even can't destroy it as it's in the opponent region where you instantly die when you cross there. if you try by heli, you spawn and get shot from this thing most times instantly depending on the map, it's a joke!The railgun itself is nice, but it is totally unbalanced and too much focused on long range kills.
I've used LMG as main weapon since BF started. It's the hardest to use and you never master it because of recoil, but I thought it always had bullet spread because when you shoot against a building wall, the spread is pretty bad and always has been this way because its an LMG, not an assault rifle.
It's why you can't run and gun, you can't toggle ADS frequently and for some of the guns, the reload takes a long, long, time.
Last week I tried assault and was shocked at how easy it was to kill. The TTK was incredibly quick, like an arcade game. With assault it took 2-3 rounds to kill, while on LMG it took more than half a dozen.
If you are frustrated with assault weapons, try LMG. The TTK is double what assault is, you have massive recoil along with bullet spread, and god help you if you have to reload or ADS when moving in a firefight.
The only reason I main LMG is because I can hold the flank on an objective and I love the big sound of the guns.
I don't get many kills, and its so very frustrating to use, but when I can draw the attention of an enemy squad, then I'm doing my part, even though my K/D sucks.
So, bullet spread, I don't know how I feel about it since the LMG is already pretty bad.
