No playable games

Not played this much as I thought we were getting updates improve the game. For paying £99 for a game I would like to play it however every time I’ve tried including today 29/03/2022 I’ve just been loading lobbies to then be kicked and looking for another repeatedly on the Xbox x. Can anyone tell us what and when we are able to even play this game or is it time I just delete it and put it down to a loss?

  • @Hazylemming Do you have cross-play turned on? If not, then turning that on should help. Otherwise if you already do then...well you are likely out of luck. It sounded like EU could still find matches and it was other territories that struggled to find anything at all, so hopefully cross-play can address that for you.
  • @Hazylemming Well, there should be a big patch coming in April but everyone thought the scoreboard patch would be AMAZING but it was just only a scoreboard... Dunno, not much hope left for them to fix this because EA looks at profit and profit requires customers/players sooo...

Also, rumors of a new BF game starting development are NOT helping... Season 1 of 2042 hasn't even started and there's talk of a new BF. Kinda seems like EA also plans to delete this game and put it down to a loss...
  • @Daeyon-be Development on the next game beginning is disappointing, but not surprising. That's industry standard - once you ship a game/expansion, most of the core development team moves onto the next project while a smaller team remains on it to work on bugfixes or the live-service aspect.

But with how bad 2042 is and how little has been done, I'd have hoped that DICE would keep more of the team working on it to actually try to get it into a decent state by "early summer", which is sure doesn't seem on track to hit (more like "summer 2023" at this point).

I get it, production needs to begin on the next BF so they have time to work on it and avoid repeating the same mistake they did with 2042 where they launch 40% of a game that's still buggy as heck, but it's just lame seeing that there's no "extraordinary effort" on the part of DICE to deliver the game that they sold their community on.

@edgecrusherO0 I know its standard practice and I would be fine with this, IF BF2042 was in a fairly OK state.

I would have preferred to hear "Well, we messed up and we're not starting development on a next one untill we right our wrong and give you guys a game you deserve!"
