Yeah. And Portal caps XP. So it isn‘t an alternative. Also often it has AI soldiers so another bummer. Feels not on par with All-Out Warfare.
i mean they did say it was a love-letter to the fans, they never said it would be to the community (Platoons)

Battlefield has always been team-squad-based, community-based.
Dedicated servers with the possibility to rent them, which can be managed and run by players. Everyone who has organized communities moves somewhere else or stays by the old titles. Server browser, elaborate squad management live in-game partially also instantly fixes the C L A N matter. But then someone might say... stacking up teams and another type of moaning like they can`t increase their skill or invite their friends. Also, external plugins might balance the teams, based on many factors and stats. Private servers for team vs team - that`s important too for some customers. With the new release, everything mentioned above has been ignored in 2042.
Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough is a staple of the series - without permanent game modes like them, I don`t see a reason even to play 2042, and it just makes me literally angry that someone treats game-modes as a spin not entirely free in a casino. Where are infantry-based Conquest maps as well? No classes either in 2042, just an optional, optical illusion in the current state of the game. Not having them is like drinking a beer without % or thinking that Generic Cola Zero is healthier with sweeteners. Right now what happens with the IP can be compared to the fast-food (no offense to anyone who serves sandwiches, I respect everyone's input into society), not fine restaurants or healthy organic food, and everything ages like milk instead of wine.

GAme is about teamwork but choosing who you play with isn't the definition of 'teamwork.'
Also doesn't Portal allow clans/large groups to join the same server/team? That seems like the place they would allow this to happen if it isn't already.
I dont really want to join games where the other side is 20 players all on voice comms when I'm solo or playing with 1 friend. No offense to those people. And sure sometimes they suck anyway. But that scenario leads to pub stomps and no point in playing as a rule of thumb.

I get you.
But Portal limits XP and I think other elements too.
And often you play against bots, which feels cheap. We were able to play with 5-8 friends in all BF games before. Now they made it impossible in the core segment AO Warfare. Such a bummer.
I also get that clans might be a concern. But with 128 players and a good balancing this should work as it did before. Also would boost teamplay.
We hope this gets fixed.
