@PacNbowls wrote:So what I'm getting is that we will have the 4 Main but with "Specialist" are we gonna have a character for the main class with customizable choices, or is it just specialist for the 4. I'm hoping that we can have our own character, and the specislist?
Hi @PacNbowls ,
From what we have seen for real so far, it appears as we will have the 4 core classes being the Assault, Support, Engineer and Recon types. All primary and secondary weapons are available to all to choose from, no matter. Each of these core classes brings a group of gadgets they can utilize on the side. While the specialists brings one or more(?) key abilities that are only available to that single specialist.
Dont know how you consider them becoming 'your own', but you can certainly equip them very much into the details as you want yourself. So pretty much being your own custom design as you prefer it yourself, as the total number of combinations across all loadouts, accessories, skins... are like endless.
Think there will be enough to make most happy!
Ok, I was wondering if we'd be stuck to specialist for the 4 classes. Just waiting for more news on how its fully going onto effect.

Based on what we information we have, i would say there are no classes anymore. We will get a specialist with a unique item and trait and a 2nd slot to pick whatever we want. Dont know how much we can customize the specialists, but i guess it will be worse than in BFV.
If you stillt want to call the system we are going to get a class system, i would move away from the traditional system. IMO it is more like the classic RPG-system:
Assault is now Damage-Dealer and tank (CC) and support characters will be medic and support. But the traditional system is definetliy gone, if Dice is sticking to their plan.

@TickTack121 @ If they are making it were the 4 classes are specialist and not a normal class that's gonna ruin it, CoD is an example just stuck with the same specialist and everyone is the same character. If 2042 for example has the support class I want to play as the base character not 1 specialist that's to the class. Personally what they did with BFV with elites and now specialist is making the game feel like its competitors

It's 50/50 for me. I see that they are trying to fix player behaviour related problems but I am not sure will more freedom cause even more issues. On the other hand, now players who liked Battlefield 4 level of class customisation which was most create a class type of Battlefield ever should be even happier with this.
If secondary gadget could have been class locked list of tools then it would have been better in my opinion. More class structure. Fixing primary weapon fixation issue is good change, though.
