"We'll also have a small range of additional fixes live as part of the game update which will be detailed in our Update Notes next week."
A small range? The community has literally been crying out since this game launched 4 months ago and have over 3.5k threads about bugs in this game, with MAJOR bugs still outstanding to be fixed. We've waited 2 months since the last update, there had better be some substantial fixes...
Half of the community is unable to play because of dwindling player numbers in their regions.
Why? Because people are over the games infuriating bugs and balances. The only people still playing are vehicle mains who are just farming literal AI Bots now.
I've been playing BF since the very start, BF1942, and this is the first game in the franchise i've given up this fast on.
I stopped playing weeks ago because of FOUR HOUR MATCHMAKING TIMES
I stopped playing weeks ago because of RIDICULOUS BOLTE SPAM
I stopped playing weeks ago because of BROKEN ADS
I stopped playing weeks ago because of BORISTURRETSPAM
I stopped playing weeks ago because of PKPMETA
The list goes on for pages and pages from the Bug Thread, and the problems are compounding.
Steam Stats have a current playerbase of 1550, and a 24 hour peak of 2000. Hell, even on Sunday, the busiest day of the week for BF2042, it didnt even hit 2500 peak on Steam.
Battlefield V is now consistantly more than 1000% the playerbase of 2042.
This is a critical time for the game, not a time to be releasing a "small range of fixes" that the few players who remain have been waiting months for.
The Scoreboard is a nice feature, but it pales in comparison right now to bugs, balances, the cartoonish asthetic, and the way the game plays overall.
Where is the urgency???
Battlefield apparently sold over 4.2m copies in the first week...at an average of $100 per copy thats almost half a billion in sales in 1 week alone.
Let alone the game is still for sale full price with all the advertising in place on every platform saying how amazing it is WHEN YOU CANNOT FIND A GAME.
There must be about a billion dollars in revenue already from this game.
The player base deserves better than a "small range of fixes"
@JarskyPlaysFYI - it didn't sell 4 million copies. Tom corrected his earlier post and that was just the number of players that played the game at that point, including via EA Access or whatever and folks that refunded. EA made it clear that the game didn't meet their sales expectations.
But otherwise yes, there seems to be no urgency at DICE to fix their busted game. It seems like they just want to move on from it and forget it happened.
