I still find it extremely odd that they are putting so much effort into Hazard Zone when there are other game breaking things to address. It seems like they don't prioritize any of the fixes.
As said, I think they knew about the hazard zone bugs at launch, and the fixes in this patch were scheduled all that time ago.
Indeed, that's what I see when I look through the patch notes. Most of the things are the kind of housekeeping stuff any game needs after launch. Although with 2042 known to have launched with an historically high number of bugs that's a lot of housekeeping.
Apparently there's a may update now scheduled. I would hope with that one that its focused more on players concerns, rather than clearing up the list of things they knew they'd not done.

We get voip, although I'd like to know what the definitions of party and squad are, and we finally get a finished scoreboard.
Other than that, just bug fixes. Lots of them. Which is less a cause for celebration, and rather more a case of a game shipping with way too many bugs.
No new content, no server browser, no performance improvements, nothing to aid organized play.
It should also be noted that this was a long awaited slate of fixes that was delivered later than Dice said it would be.
To be fair, this update while late is the first one to actually deliver what was promised. And not an iota more.
A small advance.
I'm sure devs are relieved to get this out of the way, but their job is far from over. This patch alone will not save 2042, nor will it attract back a lot of players. However it could be a good platform to build from, as long as Dice don't dawdle as much next time. Another five months before the next major update would be entirely unacceptable.
It's time for Dice to get to work, and if they think they've done enough to date, they have another think coming.
To answer the question about Party vs Squad
Squad = the group of 4 greens that you are with at any given time if you solo-queue or group-queue. A party is the pre-defined group that you queue with (yellow text in the text options if you cycle through) via the social menu. This way you can communicate maybe with either via a different key bind if you aren't 4-person-queueing?
No C5 drone change
No mention of loadouts for weapons/vehicles/specialists getting reset
A lot of good fixes/changes, but I figured/hoped that those two would be low-hanging fruit unless they really can't figure out how to fix them.

Thanks.
Not sure if the MM system makes this useful, as I've had a number of times when people in my party haven't all been able to get on the server, but its better than nothing
Here
This is only one patch with 400+ changed. Sadly, this game needs 2-3 more patches of similar magnitude.
1 for vehicle re-balance
2 for specialists rework
3 for performance issues
Only then the game will be in an acceptable AAA state. But its a good start, and I like it.
