There is a social effect, yes. There are likely 10's of thousands of new temporary players trying the game from PS Plus. A portion of those will have friends with Steam version who start playing again with them.

It's also worth noting that BF2042 was offered at its lowest price on steam sale of -70% off this weekend, globally.

I really hope DICE can see these numbers and continues to bring players the most requested items (Server Browser, Squad Management tools, Performance updates, more maps, Platoons, etc). If they did, they really could stretch this title another year.

@Adamonic the spike in numbers is attributed to 2 thing, a Free access period from today through the 16th and a Steam Sale

Such a shame Portal is still underutilized... but yo ucan still find some pure fun modes (128 Players Rush!).
