Well people who are on a losing team deciding to either switch sides or leave is an ongoing issue in all online competitive unlocking style games. It's been going on since the beginning of when people first started playing together online. Everyone in competitive wants stats and extra xp, Why lose when you can just leave? Same as the cheating & exploits issue...also been going on since forever.
I do agree with another poster who mentioned that adding back a proper server browser which shows connected players & current scoring for the servers, would be at least a help and likely lessen these occurrences...but it still won't stop it thats for sure. it will never stop really.
