this is a huge problem that needs to be fixed. The game starts to go bad then if you stay you get perma screwed since you will be outnumbered until the other team wins.I suggest a player timeout ---if you bail on your team in the first 5 minutes that game your account cannot join another match of any type for 5 minutes maybe 10 minutes.If you bail after the first 5 minutes you have a to sit out of matches for 2-5 minutes.If you join a match in progress and decide to leave within 5 minutes no harm no foul. If you leave after 5 minutes 2-5 min no match timer.if you do leave within 2 minutes and join another match and leave that match 10 minute no match timerJust a suggestion to fix what I see as one of the large never spoken about issues.

@Dalizar Ah yes this old argument...we seem to have this very thread pop up on the forum with every new BF entry. There is nothing you can do to stop this as this doesn't have a ranked competitive mode where your ranking goes up and down with losses or penalties so people will come and go as they will.As others have accurately stated there are legitimate reasons to leave games and if you institute a penalty people will just AFK and be a bigger detriment to your team.

My understanding this weekend will be rough I believe it’s doing a free weekend on steam so expect poor performers and other awful things going on.

@Dalizar Given the difficulties in joining on friends, this is a terrible idea!

@Dalizar stupid idea, there's hosts of other reasons to leave games - you should not be punished.What should be viewable is a choice to join games (and choice when / how to deploy rather than auto deploy once ina game) and be able to see a real time scoreboard update for those games and progress before you enter.

@Dalizar Thats a bad idea dude… the only reason why people are leaving is because the server balance is all wrong. Thats not peoples fault, thats ea/dice fault. And punishing people because of this will be the end of the game. People will stop playing if they get punished for leaving.We should have server browser and squad/team management options in the game. So if the server is unbalanced you can switch teams or manage your squad. Now we have no options… the only option is to leave the game, so thats what people do.

This is my first fps game as I have been a mmo player for over 2 decades. All good replies and it seems that leaving has been an issue since fps started. Still Dice should do something to balance the matchmaker. People hate to lose and leave a game they are losing in. come on people you cannot win every game. I just wish people would stick it out. Lately it has been around 10 minutes getting rolled in a loss.
Sadly, this game allows you to quit when things go bad and hope to get a better team instantly. Making it not instant would be a start or hey DEVS come up with a better idea as there are some good suggestions here.

Terrible take. This isn't a competitive game. Losing doesn't matter. Winning doesn't matter. Some of my best times in the game have been when my team was getting stomped. If a player wants to leave early and lose out on the match xp, let them. Doesn't hurt me one bit.

@DaddyWarBukx True, I hate having to sit through the "look at me, I'm special" screens at the end of a match. Just let me leave when it's over.

@SnubbyFighter Do you really think this is a competitive game where everyone is trying to "win"? There is a huge population of people just having fun. Not everyone is a try-hard. Many people like to game as entertainment, not work.

We don't care that we are losing B2 and that will lead to losing B1, there are 40 people at D1 and I want to have some fun over there!
