@UP_Hawxxeye ECM? Dont you mean the fast repair option? They can run that both at the same time for some absurd reason only DICE understands apparantly.

in BF3/4 the aircraft had to pick between flares and ECM.

Flares stopped incoming missiles

ECM broke lock ons or laser designation

in BF2042 the flares do both  which is rather too good

    @UP_Hawxxeye ECM also had a good chance to stop an incoming missile.

    And flares also broke the lock which was quite powerful in BF4 because lock on toon a while. In 2042 wildcats have no lock on times and stingers lock on extremely fast too

      @UP_LordPlumber The final state of ECM in BF4 was that any time you got locked up the pilot would hit the ECM and be able to fly away without being shot again unless they were dumb enough to fly into another group at ground level.
