@3DiE9djua2I'm no expert heli pilot but dodging tgm was easy enough even after the buff in the previous patch and now its just braindead easy mode dodging. Personally I think trees and other tall objects on the map is a bigger threat than tgm and lock-on weapons when I am a pilot. If I get hit then I blame myself for not moving the mouse when I notice that thing coming from miles away. Wink
The problem was when it came from the side, even from behind. If you see it, sure you might dodge it. Don't tell me it was easy with ur air time. Thanks.
You have ears? lol
tgm makes a very distinctive sound so you don't need to see it to know its coming. Even someone with my air time knows something that basic 😉
But maybe that's why you had/have problems with dodging because you didnt know?

@3DiE9djua2Really? I'm deff or my copter didn't give that chance to make move when i hear fully accelerated TGM from the side which sounded exactly for 0.890ms.well, now that the missile agility has been nerfed and the boost speed has too, the sound should be removed so lis has a chance at sneaking up on a helo.
infantry don't get the benefit of hearing the bullet coming and having time to move so why should vehicles?
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@PsubondHaha, no. For return make rockets on chopper 1 hit kill.
- Psubond3 years agoLegend@Man_iLoveFishing they already are one hit kill on nightbird and stealth. if you want to add attack helos to that i'm interested and, but something needs to be given back to infantry with how heavy handed the nerf of lis is and i think the long, loud audio warning is a great place to start
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond No support, sneaking up with rocket when you hide, nope.

I can hear tgm long before they are close to me which gives me enough times to do a dodging maneuver. Maybe you need to adjust your sound settings if you cant hear tgm clearly. Try the different sound tapes as they do highlight different sound differently.
Also if you have problems with dodging then watch others how they do it. I learned how to dodge seeing what pilots I was shooting tgm at was doing.
However with the tone in your posts I'm starting to think you just dont want tgm to be able to hit helis at all. If thats the case then I have nothing more to say because then we're talking about ranting. My apologies if I misunderstand the tone in your posts.

@PsubondNo support, sneaking up with rocket when you hide, nope.lol, i don't expect support from pilots. pilots don't want balance.
if a missile is slower, less agile and has less range then something should be given back to allow the skill of positioning and knowing when to fire (when the pilots aren't looking) to be a viable strategy. right now the pilots get a multi second siren letting them know they need to jink (they don't even need to know where it's coming from, just that they need to jink)
like i said, i don't expect pilots to go along with anything resembling fair play. they want to be omnipetent farming machines and don't think that any counter should exist
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@3DiE9djua2with my tone of post I'm saying spend a little more in air for understanding. In stage one missile everyone could hear it, on two you had no reaction time.
Edit: Jink is where you exposed ur self not knowing enough. With all my piloting time and skills "just Jink" doesn't do anything against 150ms flying rocket.
- Psubond3 years agoLegend@Man_iLoveFishing well, the nerfed the crap out of the speed of the missile so now they need to nerf the sound
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond No, they don't need to, it's you that needs to improve. If you can't handle, you learn to fly and counter.

@Psubondwith reaction time to 1 second, dude stop freaking smarting when you are clueless? Why argue?
Edit: And also desynced was huge. So no, you sit in that cockpit and spend xxx amount of hours to learn counter, if not, pick good timing for TGM.

@UP_HawxxeyeYou do, if you do it right. Right now helos are not that hot stuff due to Liz buff in before last patch.
Edit: Sending me back to spawn menu after 45 seconds flight constantly was just not ok.

@Psubondwith reaction time to 1 second, dude stop freaking smarting when you are clueless? Why argue?1 second is a LONG time. you don't have to move much to make the TGM miss when it was boosted (even pre 4.0 post 3.2). do you fly with the radio on or something? there is NO reason you can't hear that missile coming and have time to jink. lots of the pilots i attack seem to hear it coming just fine, not sure why you can't.
and what does "dude stop freaking smarting when you are clueless" mean?
why argue? because we have to push back against the pilots otherwise all infantry will get nerfed into the ground and the helos will get buffed to more insane levels than they already are. pilots throw an absolute FIT every time anything is mentioned that might allow someone to shoot them down.
i'm not asking for anything other than to give an thoughtful and careful infantryman a chance to use tactics to shoot down aircraft by lowering the audio cue that a non lockon weapon sends out. you on the other hand are not arguing in good faith

that desync cuts both ways. this weekend i'll upload a bunch of clips of me having my missile fly THROUGH nightbirds and stealth helos and not get a kill.
we both get screwed by that netcode issue

I dont need to fly hundreds of hours to hear that tgm coming. I learned that after the first missile came my way and nothing changed after the buff. Its not my or any one else fault you cant hear those coming and it got nothing to do with how much people have been flying. I actually think its weird that someone who have more flying hours than me still doesnt know how to hear and react to a tgm. That's on you being a slow learner and resorting to "you havent been flying enough" kind of argument only enforce the feeling of you're just a bad pilot who are here to whine because you're not able to dodge the tgm yourself.
But just to be clear. I'm not advocating to keep the buffed version. I'm saying tgm should be put back to how it was before they buffed it.

for some reason the pilots i play against have no problem jinking when they hear my boosted rocket coming. a VERY small amount of movement is more than enough to make a missile miss (especially boosted) and that was pre 4.0.
it sounds to me like you REFUSE to alter your strafing run and prioritize shooting over living and in that case you deserve what you get: a trip to the spawn screen

@PsubondIt doesn't cut both. One survives and doesn't get 2 mins penalty, equality? Far off.
And no you think it's small, but when you sit in that cockpit and take that move, you realize it's just not enough for incoming 150ms. Specially from the side.Edit: It doesn't make any sense at this point, what makes you so different you to not to learn flying and me forcing to learn dodging? Anyways, I dont feel to argue about anymore since it's happened and at least can have slight breath in air.

And no you think it's small, but when you sit in that cockpit and take that move, you realize it's just not enough for incoming 150ms. Specially from the side.yes it does cut both ways. misses that shouldn't be misses are the same as hits that shouldn't be hits.
you need better situational awareness. if you only have a 60 degree ability to monitor your surroundings. in a helo you can move on 3 axis with extreme agility compared to everything else in the game.
the 2 min penalty is because you REFUSE to play infantry. that is your choice. just because you want to stay airborn the entire game and do nothing else doesn't mean you should get to rain fire from the sky with impuinity. you have no right to be safe at all times from infantry and if you can shoot at infantry then infantry should be a credible threat to you. ground vehicles and infantry must maintain situational awareness at all times under the pain of (in game) death. why should air be special?
tl;dr: you're wrong. the sound warning from lis's missile should be lowered to allow a well positioned player to sucessfully attack aircraft that are loitering low and flying predictably

@PsubondYou getting farmed and No1 does anything about it in air, YOU refuse to learn vehicle.
And no, you don't demand if you don't experience my shoes.
Edit: There are 64 of yous against me. If you want, you can decide, I fly or not.

i've spent 35 hours in helos, i know what it sounds like when a TGM is fired at me. i've spent a lot of time killing vehicles in battlefield games. i know what good pilots do to make life difficult for me and those good pilots have no issue jinking to evade my missiles even though they are not facing my direction
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond Great, I've spend 400 hours, practicing many hours alone flying to learn every darn flinch of nightbird, I knew exactly how they handle and when it's too late for me. Usually when I heard it, it was too late, again from the side.

too late for you. not too late for the nightbird. you decide the time and the manner of the engagement. you can fly faster further and with more agility than those going after you. i'm done here. i don't need your approval to push for lowering the sound on TGM as a mitigating factor for the nerf bat hitting so hard. you are making arguments using data on missiles that flew faster and had more agility than they do now and i find your arguments uncompelling and acting out of self interest and not balance.anyway, i'm done arguing with you. i will continue to push for lowering the loud audio cue from the missile since the missile's performance was greately reduced
- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond Exactly, Dice shouldn't hear your suggestions without analyzing situation. 35 hours is okay but I bet of 35 hours you spend max 5 hours in previous patch which led you poor conclusion. Peace.

I am talking about the vehicle asymmetry in Breakthrough between attackers and defenders
