Platform Dilemma

I have a dilemma and I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. I'm lucky enough to have a PS5 and a pretty high end gaming PC. I can play perfectly well with m&k on PC, but in all honesty I'm not a very competitive person and I just prefer the more chilled experience of playing online on consoles. PC online always just seems a helluva lot more stressful.

I also happen to have an ultrawide 144hz monitor because my main hobby is sim racing. The monitor however makes a hell of a difference in fps games too.

So do I get the game on PC to make use of my extra pixels and frames or do I get it on console for a more 'fun' experience. Or is the chilled console experience gonna be non existent anyway because of crossplay with PC? I dunno anymore!

Help me make a choice 😅

    Stay with PC you'll end up with PC players on console anyways and be at a disadvantage on console.

    @HankBizzleSounds like you prefer the "chill" experience, so you have your answer.  Also, if crossplay turns out as EA DICE want, you will have crossplay options to chose from.  The PC community also has a greater prevalence of cheaters and I DO NOT want to go further into that...

    @carsono311The only issue is that turning off cross play usually means it takes forever to get a match as it needs everyone in the match to have cross play turned off. And I genuinely think the player base in this game could end up way too fractured as it is because of having too many game modes and not including older gen consoles in the cross play. So it'll take even longer than usual to find a match.

    So I am kinda swaying more towards what @1Hairy-Gorilla said. If I'm gonna have to play with PC players anyway, I might as well be one of them and have the added advantages available to me 😏

    Actually you sounds like you want to go for the console way (because you prefer the more "relaxing" envoirement) but unsure about the "playerbase" in case of opting-out of crossplay.

    So I give you the advice to think about your region, for an example on Europe region you will probably not have a low player count like on Australia / New Zealeand / Oceania region.

    @HankBizzle You could be right. I do expect PC to have the largest playerbase, however as I mentioned, it could also have more... issues to deal with as well.

    For me, it sounds like a server issue. Trying to find casual server(s) and avoiding competitive ones.

    @HankBizzle you could easily do both if the game is solid since there is cross progression. My recommendation is to buy the game on one platform, see if you like it and then go for the second if it's good. With Cross play you can still play with your friends on any platform.
