Players who don't actually want to play.

@Moab23All I can say is that people play for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes I'm all about capping flags, sometimes I like to snipe. Depends.

Playstyle is a personal thing. Everyone is different.

@Lancelot_du_Lac I have my own playstyle as well, but I adapt it to each mode because I want to help my team win. Even if I do something like sniping, I'll always do it in mind of advancing our team. The players I'm being placed with don't seem to care one iota for any of that. 

@Moab23you are seeing the effects of no squad management tools. Once you have some cohesive squads, your team is a lot more effective.

Also, it does not help that most streamers just farm kills and rarely PTFO. One somewhat known streamer recently posted a video anointing himself one of the best BF players in the world, then you go to his stats page and see that all he worries about is KD, but has low OBJ time, low Captured Objectives, low Objectives Defended, but hey, look at that great KD. Newer players watch these videos and think that is how the game is supposed to be played. We need content creators and streamers PTFO'ing.

I only play conquest, and I generally only snipe or use vehicles to blow stuff up. So, in essence, I am literally the type of player the OP hates.

So why don't I play as I "should"? Because DICE made this game absolutely painful for people to 'play' what they want to. By the time I'm in a map I want to be in, I'm already pretty annoyed having spent 20 minutes "cycling" through Conquest to find the map I want to play. When I do, no one revives, no one medics, nobody talks to each other, everyone is in a 'one man' mode. People vary from people an awesome team player to generally not GAF about whatever 'we' as a team are trying to do.

I'd advise blaming the cause and not the symptoms. The cause is the DICE never set this game up for success so whoever is left playing this game is often playing the game 'for the wrong' reasons.

I hate COD, as an example. The random things that just blow someone up out of nowhere and the total arcade-y nature of COD turns me off. BF2042 looks great on my 3x 4K 30"+ monitors and I love the graphics and 'freedom' to do what I want. I love Exposure, Stranded, and Kaleidoscope. Everything else I hate.

So yes, please do blame me for your frustrations as they are warranted, as I blame those stupid helo flyers who ruins various maps when snipers are just trying to long range snipe each other. But all of us should be blaming DICE for letting this game fall flat on its head.

I bet you if you actually took the time to ask people why they play BF2042, it isn't because of "the game modes" or the "maps". It's mainly to screw around or for other reasons.

Blame the root cause, and that's DICE. The fact is not a SINGLE player in BF2042 is setup for success as a 'team'. Everyone is basically encouraged to do as they want, and that is what kills this game.

Its weird, as a LONG time bf guy, I always wondered why there was never any extra incentive for winning rounds....like double xp or something. I think BF1 had like some kind of loot boxes, but i dont remember if that was from winning or just gaining so much xp or what. But anyhow, winning should be rewarded, as is it just doesnt matter, KDR, unlocks, T1 progression will always be more important

I'm just here for the gun charms. And hats.

Objectives are my fish shooting barrels.

I'm an extremely sweaty kind of player so it sure irks me when everyone else isn't "pulling their weight" but at the end of the day it's still a game and, I guess, technically, they're still allowed to play how they want, or whatever.

Battlefield multiplayer is an RPGish XP grind where wins do not matter.  It has the season pass from Destiny 2 and the challenges (chores) to go along with it.  Only the devs for some reason can't seem to think of any way to make winning matches together with our teams a challenge.  Ask yourself this question.  What is the biggest reward that Battlefield 2042 gives the player for winning matches?  

Trying to win the match with my team is my main motivation for playing with all of these other things in the game, and most times it does seem like most of the people on the servers do not share that goal.  So being in matches like the ones you have described often makes the Battlefield experience seem very shallow.  

Edit:  BTW.  This is probably one of the best topics that I have seen on here in a long time. 

The only solution that will ACTUALLY get random players to PTFO is to tie XP and progression to wins, how that would be implemented I have no idea but that's the only way I can think of.

Sure, you bet, but at the same time, it is a GAME and they paid to play it how they want too, so I don't know if I would even be on board with throttling XP and progression like that.

More clan/platoon support, server browsers with persistent server, squad management are just some of the kinds of tools that are sorely lacking right now which make it next to impossible to do the kind of community building with like-minded players like we had before.
