Playstation/console users turn OFF cross play

I myself am a Playstation player and have turned off cross play from day one. Because for some reason the time it takes to fill a sever, it can take 5 minutes, to the minimum of 32 (after that it fills up in seconds to 128) I turned on cross play the test it out. Those were the worst matches I've played in a long time. PC players are at an advantage in every way to the point were I thought that there must be hackers playing.

And it's not only that but the pace of the game is really strange. It's not faster but more chaotic if that make sense. So I turned off cross play after testing for 3 days and it plays so much better

To all console players who are not having a good time, just try turning off cross play. The more players turn it off the better for everyone.

And to the developers; Please turn off cross play by default. To many players don't even realize how much better it would be.

@Digital_Ice It all sounds good in theory but only a small percentage of people visit these forums. Last time I turned off crossplay on PS5 I couldn't even find a match and I am in US central.
  • @Digital_Ice Better yet, step it up and get an adapter to reduce the supposed advantage the PC users have. Really it's not so much an advantage as experience. Most M/KB users have been at it for years. But you're certainly welcome to wait longer for games if you choose. I'm all for native M/KB support on consoles.
  • I know. That's why they should turn off cross play by default. I don't think developers and most players know how big the difference is between PC and console in this game.

Also for PC players it would be better to not have console players on your team.

Plugging in an adapter for M&K would probably help but a lot of users have reported issues with doing so, at least on PlayStation. TV's with lower refresh+latency would also need too be upgraded if you really wanted to close the gap - At that point you'd might as well just fully switch over.

The moment I turn crossplay off on my PS5 (NA West), I can pretty much guarantee I'll only ever see 1 or 2 others humans at best

  • @DPsx7 It's not only M/KB, usually PC gamers have betters setups and network cards than console gamers. In FPS games there should never be cross play, at least not by default.

@Digital_Ice That comes up often in discussions like this. M/KB is a preference much like controller users who like analogs, but they're not the only factors. Faster internet, bigger TV, surround sound, it all helps.

Personally, because I consider Steam malware (long story) I won't go back to PC, I quit in the mid 2000's. So I'd prefer to expand on my console gaming than go back.
  • @DPsx7 The xbox one/ps4 version works pretty well and you dont have to deal with MnK players
  • I play on PS5 and haven't had many issues in crossplay lobbies. The only time i've ever come across a cheater was in a portal tdm lobby where they were C4ing folks from under the map. Bad PC players and Bad console players tend to make the same bad plays regardless of their desired input.

  • @Digital_Ice The game is way more responsive with crossplay off. Controls are snappier, play is much smoother with less lag spikes. It’s really not a bad game when crossplay is off. I’m a PC player and although there are no servers that can be filled in AOW with CP off, I’ve played on some portal maps and can’t believe the difference. Servers and developers clearly can’t handle cross play.
