MAG on ps3 had the best system ever for squad Cohesion and squad lead .. peoples could choose to opt in or out of lead position . Squad leader were able to set " frago orders " wich gave extra XP to those following orders . the squad lead gave passive perks and XP boost around him and so on .. Squad leaders were able to communiicate with platoon leads and OIC ..Also Proximity VOIP help tremendously to coordinate with randoms players around as well ..

- 4 years ago@Stew360 They don't even need to look at MAG...just their older games that had more systems in place to allow for teamwork and to encourage/reward it appropriately.
Some examples...
Previously we had classes so we knew more or less what our squads loadouts were based on their class. What is my squad's loadout in BF2042? Why can't I tell what type of weapon or what utility item they are using so I can complement them?
Why don't squads get additional XP or improved spotting akin to how it used to work for their squad only? Spotting was busted when it was team-wide, but it makes a lot more sense for you to be able to more "accurately" spot enemies for your squad.
Why does only the person that destroys a vehicle get kill credit if a squad coordinated to take one down? Shouldn't all members in the squad see similar levels of reward for their teamwork?
Why don't you get bonus XP (if you do, I haven't noticed) for healing/resupplying your squad?
Why are there no rewards for non-kill/capture actions like suppressing enemies so that your squad can move up like previous games?
Like, all the pieces for improved squad play exist in previous iterations of BF...either the team decided they were no longer "good" or ran out of time to implement them in BF2042.- 4 years ago@edgecrusherO0 MAg had a superior system period and should be replicated in a Live AAA combines arms game like BF .. Every single BF since its creation never had the level of depth and quality that MAG had structurally speaking and even planetside 2 wich has a inferior command system to MAG was also better than past BF games ...
There is no shame in replicating MAG system its just that good and never have been done by any other AAA games that i remember of ..
Also they need to allow us to make Platoon lobbys with 4 squads of 4 that we can choose who is Squad leader and who isnt . so a lobby of 16 players can matchmake in Alloutwarfare so at least you can have 1/4 of the team willing to cooperate and coordinate- 4 years ago@Stew360 Well, baby steps from the current "there's no real support for squad play" state to he MAG-esque systems. I just want the level of squad play from previous BF games back at the very least.
PS2's system is very different given that it's a much different style of game and has changed quite a bit over the years, and between its current low player count and that it's taken them years of work making progress and then regressing isn't much better.
I'd love to see more depth akin to the old commander system and stuff from BF2 and whatnot, or MAG, but that's a huge, massive leap from where the game is. Bring it back to BFV/1/4 levels and allow for multi-squad groups so friends can actually play together first, build from there.

- 4 years ago@Stew360 Do you know what other game had great squad cohesion? Battlefield 4. A GAME MADE BY THE SAME STUDIO 8 YEARS PRIOR. Braindead developers working at DICE STOCKHOLM are actually ret aa rr dd ee dd. Only braindead payers like this game
