The patch notes are not 100% clear but just in case:
Please let the Casper drone continue to be able to destroy other gadgets just like the MAV in older games. It is ok if it cannot bother vehicles anymore but let it still be able to do fun stuff on enemy gadgets.
The drone is great as a trolling device 🙂
There is method to DICE’s development plan. We just don’t (quite) understand it.
I'm all for the drone doing something other than spotting.
When I heard about this nerf it surprised me, it's not like the sky is full of Casper drones! You might see 2 or 3 buzzing around but I really can't see how they are negatively impacting the game in any way at all.
Honestly, all of the changes in this release seem to add up to a buff for all vehicles and a nerf for infantry. I just don't see how DICE came to the conclusion that this was required.
Yeah, I don't think this nerf was needed at all. I'm usually the only drone in the sky on Breakthrough. maybe 30% of the matches I would notice other drones, enemy or friendly. If I'm in a vehicle, I would rarely get disabled/emp by a drone. The biggest threat was C5.
This changes my style of play. I came back to Battlefield about 3 weeks ago and felt like I was in a groove with Casper. I'll probably switch specialists now.
Was this necessary? I have never thought that vehicles were struggling in this game. Sure, if you don't know how to drive and rush into a point without support, you'll get punished, but not by Casper. The solution is to learn to drive.

This is a joke of a change. McKay used his grappling hook to where no one else can reach, scout spawns on them and puts down an insertion beacon. Welp, looks like there's nothing we can do... Someone put several shootdown sentinels around a tank that's at the edge of the map? Welp, looks like they'll be there for the entire match.
What were you thinking, Dice?

Agree, it makes no sense to remove the specialist specialization. Why didn't they remove all specialist abilities to make it fair. Like the new mini map Haven. They put vehicles on an Close quater map. Where Liz can shoot with her rocket across the map from base to first enemy flag. And old bugs are back again, too. Headglitch, Armor plate on pdriver protects vehicles again, Scope wobling and flickering walls.
