Please revert key & button mapping

I won’t rant.

I am politely asking that the key and button mapping be reverted back to the way it was prior to update 3.2

I have included “key” in the title because I believe that PC guys are also experiencing hardship since the mapping was changed.

I write this on behalf of probably most players.

We just want to be able to map our keys and buttons ourselves.

Please please please allow us to map our controls and/ or please UNBIND the plus menu and the switch weapon commands.

To all of you reading this, please just click “me too”, “XP”, or post a quick response if you agree with this.

We really need dice to take notice of this.

For those of us that have long term muscle-memory built in, this change to the button mappings IS a big deal.

    @Psubond Glad to hear you got yours sorted.
    But understand that you don’t speak for all of us.
    Many of us cannot get our controls back the way they were all the while dice forces a binding of 2 functions to one button/ key.

    Which functions are messing with you? I had that problem before 4.0 but so far i was able to split things up after 4.0 (i did have to reset everything though which was annoying)

    @Psubond What platform are you on?
    I’m on PS5.

    I want it back to how it was.

    Plus menu accessed by pressing and holding up on the d-pad.
    Adjustments to be made by using X, square, circle and triangle.

    I also need switch weapon on triangle.

    This all worked fine before.
    I’m fact, even after they screwed with it, I was fine. I ended up with the same function on the d-pad AND triangle.

    Now they’ve screwed with it again.
    Now I only have plus menu and switch weapon on the triangle button.

    If I map up on the d-pad to be plus menu, I can’t set triangle to switch between weapons.

    I’ve tried eveything.
    I have a dualsense Edge Controller and I can’t even use the custom profiles on that to help either

    @Psubond Also, I’m worried about resetting because I think it will reset ALL settings and that would be too much to restore

    I've been playing online (PC) games for over 20+ years and have always changed my keys to suit, last night I did the update, started up the game in the hope to get on a look at the new map.

    But to my disgust, all my keys where set back to default.... I go into the Key Binding section, and it won't allow me to change them.

    So, my question is to you guys out there in BF world, is there a work around for me to be able to change my keys to what I want?

    And my question to DICE, if you're allowing people to be able to change their keys.... why do you still have a Key Binding section in the options menu?

    I was really looking forward to getting in and play this map, but seriously, I will just go play another game because I really can't be bothered learning to play with default keys.

    I hate to say it, but they fix one thing and break another - has been a common theme for a patch release from day one.

    @WTFxxMR_BISHY @WTFxxMR_BISHY Hi something went bad in this update - for sure. I had problems and was puzzled big. Seemed like locked - but click middle of field - no luck - click to the far right of the box and you get in - worked for me. Some say go to mouse field first and then to key bind field (left of the 2) and then you should be able to do this. Remeber to make backup of your files in BF 2042 folder in documents before you update - just to be on the safe side. I forgot this time !
